Activities at Chacombe Park Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Chacombe Park Care Home
A View to Edgehill
We made the most of 2019's early sunshine by taking the opportunity to visit one of our favourite lunch spots. We sat outside in the garden to enjoy the spectacular view with plenty of ice cream to go around!
Valentine's Day
Bill James joined us to celebrate Valentine’s Day. This was an open invitation to our local community to come along for an afternoon of entertainment and refreshments.
We had delicious, heart-shaped scones filled with jam and cream, finger sandwiches, shortbread and a lovely sponge cake beautifully decorated. G
It was a great afternoon of singing along and enjoying the music from Bill James.
High Hopes
Who knew that you could have so much fun with paper aeroplanes? One afternoon, we created our own and had a flying competition. We had some nose dive from the start, and some glided high through the air beautifully.
National Pizza Day
We celebrated National Pizza Day by making our very own pizzas from scratch and enjoying them fresh out of the oven with a cup of tea. Pizza isn't a regular meal here at Chacombe, so this was a nice treat and well enjoyed.
Burns Night
The Rosewood Highland Dancers joined us and performed some traditional Scottish dancing in recognition of Burns Night, which was a great moment for our Scottish resident, who was very pleased to be a part of the celebration.
Old Traditions
Years 5 and 6 spent the afternoon teaching residents old playground games. Everyone had fun learning them, and intergenerational mixing is a great way of learning and teaching one another, as well as sharing stories and interests.
