Activities at Chacombe Park Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Morgan Dowie

Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Morgan and I joined the Chacombe Park life enrichment team in January 2025. I love getting to know our residents, and I'm extremely passionate about their continued wellbeing and enjoy providing tailored activities that stimulate happiness, and continued fulfilment.

Prior to joining Chacombe Park, I worked as a Senior Carer, and hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Outside of work, I’m a wife and mother to our beautiful little girl. Originally from Birmingham our little family has now settled in Banbury. Living life to the full is my motto, and I wish to instil this in all our residents, whatever your ability there is something new to learn or try. Life is for enriching and enjoyment.

I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. We are always open to new ideas, if you'd like to contact me please call the home on 01295 712001 or email me direct on: Chacombe.Activities@barchester.com - New entertainers always welcome.

Chacombe International Playgroup

What a wonderful morning with the launch of our intergenerational playgroup. It was lovely to meet so many local parents and their little ones.

The introductory session created magical moments as the children and residents came together for music, games and activities in our welcoming community lounge. Our dedicated activities team ensured a warm and nurturing environment where connections flourished across generations.

"Watching the residents' faces light up when the babies arrived was priceless," said Activities Coordinator; Kim. "We understand that parenthood can sometimes feel isolating, which is why we've created this special space where parents can meet, share experiences, and watch their little ones have lots of fun alongside our residents."

One delighted mother said; “Chacombe was really lovely and spacious, I’m definitely spreading the word!”

The Chacombe Playgroup is fully complimentary, please join us for our next session on Wednesday 5th March - All parents, guardians, and carers with babies and small children are welcome to be part of this special community experience.

Fitness and Fun at School Choir

Today we welcomed a new member of staff to the Chacombe Park Activities Team; Morgan. We also took a ride in our new minibus to attend the weekly Dementia choir in Brackley. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed singing a variety of songs including one of Barbara favourites 'It's a long way to Tipperary'. The cafe's activities included some senior-friendly armchair exercise that had us all moving and grooving at Winchester House School, Brackley, Northamptonshire!

Morgan had a good first day and enjoyed interacting and getting to know the residents, and we've no doubt she'll be a real asset to the team and we're all looking forward to getting to know her better.
