Activities at Chacombe Park Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Morgan Dowie
Hi, my name is Morgan and I joined the Chacombe Park life enrichment team in January 2025. I love getting to know our residents, and I'm extremely passionate about their continued wellbeing and enjoy providing tailored activities that stimulate happiness, and continued fulfilment.
Prior to joining Chacombe Park, I worked as a Senior Carer, and hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care. Outside of work, I’m a wife and mother to our beautiful little girl. Originally from Birmingham our little family has now settled in Banbury. Living life to the full is my motto, and I wish to instil this in all our residents, whatever your ability there is something new to learn or try. Life is for enriching and enjoyment.
I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. We are always open to new ideas, if you'd like to contact me please call the home on 01295 712001 or email me direct on: Chacombe.Activities@barchester.com - New entertainers always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships

Life at Chacombe Park Care Home

Congratulations 'Katie' NVQ Distinction
Huge congratulations to our very own Katie Casey for achieving a Distinction in her Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 NVQ. An amazing result for all the hard work she has put in and very well deserved!
Barchester care homes are always enthusiastic when it comes to supporting our colleagues for training and helping them further their skills within our homes. We are all so very proud of our Katie, well done.

Burns Night Celebrations
Today at Chacombe Park we had our open day which also incorporated a Burns Night theme, a celebration of the Scottish poet Robert Burns. We had a good turn out of people with our management team there to greet our visitors and show them around so they could see what we have to offer.
We also had live entertainment from the wonderful D'Artagnan who's performance was thoroughly enjoyed by our residents.
A lovely menu that included the Scottish delicacy haggis was prepared by our Chef Stephan which the residents loved.

America's 'National Pie Day'
Yesterday we celebrated America's 'National Pie Day' with a selection of sweet and savoury pies for our residents, and guests to try in recognition of the variety of fillings you can have within a puff or short crust pastry casing!
Chef Charlene not only treated us to some fabulous pies, from Chicken and Leek to Fig and Date she gave us a brief history behind the creation of a pie. We sang pie related rhymes including 'Sing a song a sixpence' and 'Simple Simon' before finishing of the session with a rendition of 'American Pie'.
We look forward to doing it all again in March as chef and he homes’ hospitality team go all out to celebrate British Pie Week from Monday 3rd -Sunday 9th March 2025.
Look out for our forthcoming events posters as we invite the local community to join us once again for a week of tasty pie treats!

Song and Dance Afternoon
The residents at our home enjoyed live 1950's songs performed by the lovely Vintage Ruby. Residents and staff members started dancing along, everyone had a fantastic time!

Dementia Choir at Winchester House School
What better way to brighten a dull and rainy day than to have our spirits uplifted by the talented students, and members of the Dementia Choir at Winchester House School, Brackley, Northamptonshire.
Our little group are always welcomed as part of the school’s family and entertained with sing-along songs and musical recitals. Today we were mesmerised by an extremely talented young student who played a solo rendition on his French Horn captivating us all with every note!
It was lovely to meet and chat to so many people over the luscious finger sandwiches and fancy cakes the school had lovingly prepared for us all. These sessions are such a treat to attend - Keeping our residents’ part of the community is a priority; particularly for those living with dementia.
Extending our community connections ensures our residents lives remain enriched and the benefits of intergenerational activities shows clear benefits for all involved.
We look forward to welcoming the students to our home in the coming months and will be extending an invitation to the choirs attendees to join us as we launch our new Dementia Friendly Cafe at Chacombe Park in February.

Employee of the Month
Well done to our Head of Maintenance; Gareth Lewis for achieving Employee of the month!
He is extremely passionate about his job and always willing to help others. He goes above and beyond his role for the benefit of his colleagues and the residents who love his happy energy.
Gareth was congratulated by the home’s General Manager for the achievement and was presented with a £25 voucher as a special thank you. Shaju Paul, General Manager said: “I’m delighted to have such a caring and talented individual working as part of our team and I hope this ‘Employee of the Month’ award goes some way towards showing how much Gareth’s hard work is valued.
