Activities at Chacombe Park Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Chacombe Park Care Home
Cake Sale
What a fabulous spread! We held a cake sale in aid of Barchester's Charitable Foundation with an aim to raise £100. We reached our target and raised £100.35. We were joined by friends, family, and the community, who helped us with this goal.
Armed Forces Day
In our local town, there was a parade to celebrate Armed Forces Day – a few of us went along and joined the celebrations, sharing and reminiscing about past experiences with the Armed Forces. We were even lucky enough to see the spitfire do a flyby over the town.
Fun in the Sun
We can’t complain about the glorious weather, as we have been out in the garden enjoy ice cream. We love the sunshine!
Teddy Bear's Picnic
Residents enjoyed a teddy bear's picnic with the pupils of Chacombe Primary School. It was a great opportunity for the residents and children to mix among each other.
The weather picked up, so off on our teddy bear hunt around the grounds of Chacombe we went, with the children teaming up with residents to help search for all the hidden bears.
This was a fabulous afternoon of intergenerational mixing, leaving us all exhausted when the children departed back to school.
Fashion Frenzy
We recently opened our own mini clothes shop, where residents could pop along, try on clothes, and keep them if they liked. This was a lovely afternoon of fun and lots of residents left happy with some new items for their wardrobe.
Carers Week
We presented our Carers with the wonderful hamper of goodies from Barchester to celebrate the amazing hard work they do on a daily basis. We have an amazing team of Carers and nothing is too much trouble for them.
