Activities at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular weekly outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including the local theatre and Cathedral's as well as visits from PAT dogs, visiting zoos, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our Pizza & Quiz Night that we encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Community is fun and active.

Life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home

Chorleywood Beaumont celebrated National Christmas Jumper day.

Chorleywood Beaumont celebrated National Christmas Jumper day. The staff and residents got their festive cheer on by showing off their fabulous Christmas jumpers and singing along to all our favorite Christmas songs. We enjoyed delicious home made mulled wine made by our chef.

Stella and Margaret were our competition winners and were presented with prizes by our judge and fantastic General Manager Ramona Stanciu.

100 years young. Happy Birthday Flora.

Celebrations have been in full swing at Chorleywood Beaumont as one of our much loved residents reaches her centenary in style.

Flora Richards was joined by staff, her family, friends and other residents as she received a card from the King in recognition of her landmark birthday. A champagne reception was held at the home and everyone celebrated while Flora opened her many cards and gifts.

Guests also enjoyed not just one but two special birthday cakes made by the home’s head chef Chris Pigera and the Chorleywood Beaumont’s community choir, The Beaumont Songsters, led by Warren from Christ Church Chorleywood sang a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday and toasted Flora’s good health.

We'll meet again.

Today we had the pleasure of watching the fabulous Fiona Harrison performing her 1940s Remembrance show "We'll Meet Again". The residents and team really enjoyed the show and sang along to all the songs that bought back fond memories for many of our residents.

We are always delighted when Fiona performs and look forward to seeing her amazing costumes.

A right Royal Tea Party to celebrate King Charles III 75th Birthday.

Residents, relatives and our friends from the Chorleywood community came together to enjoy a birthday party. Our chefs made and amazing spread for us to enjoy and there was plenty of fizz. We danced, played games and of course sang happy birthday to King Charles III.

Thank you to everyone who came along and made it such a fun afternoon.

Celebrating the Hindu festival of Diwali

Residents at Chorleywood Beaumont had a brilliant day celebrating the Hindu festival of Diwali, popularly known as the ‘festival of lights’. Residents helped with decorating the home with colourful patterned rangoli and lighting ‘diyas’, small oil lamps which signify the triumph of good over evil. Diwali honours Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, the lamps help Lakshmi find her way into people’s homes.

Hindu members of the team bought in traditional outfits and the staff dressed up in sari’s and doura suruwal and performed a dance for residents and guests.

Head chef Cristopher and Chef Cristian prepared traditional Indian dishes including a range of warming fragrant curries, spicy samosas, crispy bhajis, chicken tikka and lamb biriyani followed by traditional Indian sweets for everyone to enjoy.

There was a firework display arranged by Adrian the head of maintenance to end the amazing day of celebrations. Everyone gathered in the gardens to watch them.

Jean, resident at Barchesters Chorleywood Beaumont commented: “I love all of the different cultural events that we celebrate here, there’s always something going on.  I especially liked sampling the wonderful food.  It makes me feel like I am travelling around the world!”
