Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Elain Carey
Hi. My name is Elain and I help to deliver the daily programme of activities and entertainment and celebrations - there is always a birthday to celebrate! I like to see residents making friends and chatting with each other. I have a background in dance, music and acting, and I am also a qualified Zumba instructor, so I love it when we have entertainers in the home. We also have regular visits by therapy pets which residents find very relaxing.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Congratulations Charlotte!
Please join us in congratulating Care Assistant; Charlotte Newton on receiving ‘Employee of the Month’ for June 2024. Charlotte was nominated by our residents, her colleagues and residents’ relatives because of her willingness to support all departments and her overall hard working nature. Charlotte is always on hand to provide additional support.
Charlotte was presented with her certificate, flowers, chocolates and a £25 voucher by our Deputy Manager and joined by her colleagues who wished to say a special 'thank you' for her continued support.

Teddy Bears Picnic
What happens when you go down to the woods today... in National Picnic Week!
Our residents had a lovely afternoon being visited by the children from Busy Bees Childcare for a Teddy Bears picnic in the Claremont Parkway gardens.
Each child arrived with a cuddly toy in hand and story to tell! We played games and sang many songs, including; 'Wake up Mr Bear' and 'Ring a Ring o' Roses' before going on a Bear hunt followed by refreshments.
As Friday was also the start of the Paris Olympics, the children, led by resident Bronwen helped us carry our very own Olympic torch and light the Olympic flame in readiness for the homes 'week of Olympic sports'.

Exploring New Art Techniques
From the stripes, squiggles, swirls of Comb Art to the abstraction art of 'Wassily Kandinsky' are residents are always up to learn something new and experiment with colourful paints and varying techniques. The sense of achievement on producing a new piece of artwork is clear on their smiling faces.

'Mary' Becomes Resident Ambassador
Please join us in welcoming 'Mary Heyward' to the Claremont team as our newly appointed Resident Ambassador. Nominated by her fellow residents as spokesperson for the communities, Mary has lived here since July 2023 and knows the staff really well. She enjoys attending activities and looks forward to being the liaison point between her fellow residents and the Management team.
Mary is a proud mother of two, has 6 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren! She enjoys all sports particularly Rugby and Tennis, when the weather is good you’ll no doubt find her in the garden enjoying the wildlife and flowers.

Let's Talk - Planning a Picnic?
Honing our fine motor skills through discussion, decision making and reminiscence is not only a great reason for get together over tea and cake, but when Karen organises the session our residents managed to have fun planning for a picnic; what would they need, where would they go, and what would they eat etc.?

Armchair Travel to Poland
This months armchair travel came courtesy of Senior Registered Nurse; Aneta from Poland.
She prepared an informative session for our residents along with an array of Polish sweet and savoury delicacies for them to sample. Aneta showcased a documentary on the 'points of interests' in Poland and spoke about the area she and her family come from.
Our residents all agreed they would like to visit Poland and certainly try more of the lovely local food!
Thank you Aneta for going the extra mile for our residents.
