Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

The Vaccine Arrives

We here at Claremont Parkway are so proud to say that many of our team have had their COVID-19 vaccinations, with many more booked in. Our team feels that it is so important to do all we can to keep our residents as safe during this time.

Christmas Day

Residents had a nice surprise on Christmas Day; the children of Windermere Nursery very kindly brought presents for each of them.

Gail Benford, from Windermere Nursery, contacted us, as the nursery wanted to do something nice for our residents during this time.

The residents loved the presents and commented on how nice and thoughtful it was of the nursery to think of them during this time.

Thank you very much to all the children and families of Windermere Nursery.

Christmas Zumba

The residents had so much fun with Christmas Zumba. The residents loved Elain’s festive outfit and her Christmas spirit. They all joined in and expressed their Christmas spirit.

,

Christmas Cards of Kindness

Montsaye Academy in Rothwell contacted us about their 'Christmas Cards of Kindness'  scheme.

The students studying social science wrote individual cards for each of our residents.

The residents really enjoyed reading the cards and thought it was so lovely that they had taken their time to write them. They especially enjoyed the handmade ones, made by one of the students.

Thanksgiving Celebrations

We celebrated Thanksgiving here at Claremont Parkway. There was bingo, quizzes and we even made some Thanksgiving turkeys. The Head Chef made us some yummy treats and our local Tesco donated some American treats for the residents to try.

Making Poppies

We never knew that the residents could have so much fun making poppies for our Remembrance Day display. There was so much laughter, as they glued the poppies together. It was lovely to see.
