Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenny sings our favourite songs

We were delighted to welcome Jenny Simmonds back to Claremont Parkway to entertain us. She sang songs from various eras and we joined in our favourites. Sara and Reece enjoyed dancing with residents and we had afternoon tea to relax afterwards. It was a fun afternoon for residents and staff.

A Grand Tour of Italy

Residents at Claremont Parkway enjoyed a day of armchair travel to Italy. Our fabulous Chef and kitchen team created a wonderful themed dining experience of Italian classic dishes including Minestrone Soup, Spaghetti Carbonara, Lasagne and Tiramisu, which was enjoyed by Peter and all our residents. We also learned some Italian words and facts about its history and culture, thanks to Sara, our Italian-speaking Carer. To unwind we enjoyed a virtual grand tour of Italy seeing the beautiful sights and wishing we were there…

Meet the guinea pigs

Volunteer, Margaret, brought her very friendly guinea pigs, Mrs Chips and Master Chips, to Claremont House this week. Residents found stroking the guinea pigs very relaxing which helps people with their emotional well-being. Mrs and Master Chips enjoyed it too and received some treats. Sheila enjoyed meeting Master Chips.

A guest bingo caller

Steve, the Head of Maintenance at Claremont Parkway, had a fun afternoon running a bingo session for residents. He said it made a nice change from checking and fixing things, and it gave him and our residents a great opportunity to get to know each other a bit better.  We're one big happy team here!

Elain is our star for July

Team members at Claremont Parkway each have their strengths and skills and we like to recognise them. We have chosen Elain from our Activities Team as Employee of the Month for July. Elain supports residents to do crafts, quizzes, games and physical activities. At this time of year she also finds ways to make the most of the garden and the better weather. Thank you for everything you do, Elain!

A Floral Surprise

We received a lovely donation of flowers from Trish, the Community Champion at Morrison’s in Kettering. Two residents made small arrangements for tables in the Claremont Parkway dining room. Jacqui, our Receptionist, arranged some sunflowers for our reception table.
