Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Lucia Pivetta

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

Sleeping Rough for the Night

Sleeping Rough for the Night

On Friday 27th January, Rhiannon Crofts (General Manager) and Tracey Snook (Administrator) braved the cold by sleeping on the streets in these minus temperatures to highlight the growing problem of homelessness and in support of the Northampton Hope Centre, a fantastic local organisation which supports and provides hope for the homeless and disadvantaged.

Although we only had to suffer one night in these freezing temperatures, we are supporting an incredibly widespread crisis and an extremely sad reality for so many people from all walks of life. There are so many myths and misunderstandings about homelessness and we want to be part of changing the way people think about and see homelessness.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year

A huge Happy New Year from all at Collingtree Park. We brought in the New Year with an afternoon of party games followed by a buffet and mocktail tasting!

We're off to see the wizard...

We're off to see the wizard...

The staff pantomime this year was the Wizard of Oz and it was a huge hit! Many giggles were had as the staff acted, sang and danced around in tin foil, leaves and hay. It was truly a performance not to be forgotten in a hurry.

Party Time Productions

Party Time Productions

Party Time Productions came to Collingtree Park and put on a pantomime for residents. Dick Whittington and his cat sang, danced and put on a brilliant show. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the performance and said how much they loved singing along to the much-loved tunes of the past. We hope to have the production company back again soon!

Rock Around the Christmas Tree

Rock Around the Christmas Tree

Collingtree Park's favourite time of the year - Christmas - and Christmas wouldn’t be complete without a Christmas party! This year, we had Johnny Red rocking us around the Christmas tree. Johnny got everyone up on the dance floor and tapping our feet to the Rock and Roll hits over the decades. We all had a great time while enjoying sherry and mince pies. We finished the evening off with some party games and yummy buffet food!

Christmas Cake Competition

Christmas Cake Competition

Every year, Barchester has a Christmas cake competition, and all the Barchester homes take part. This year, we got our keen bakers together and Started decorating our Christmas cake; the residents loved making suggestions on how the finished cake should look and we had so many giggles while doing so. Margaret, from our Memory Lane community, loved making the snowmen and taking her time to ice on the eyes, whilsy Margret’s friends from the home enjoyed making snow balls and the Christmas tree! We think the cake looks amazing and the ladies did a great job. Let’s all keep our fingers crossed that we win. Watch this space!
