Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Lucia Pivetta

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

Let's Rock!

Let's Rock!

To celebrate Dementia Awareness Week, we had a fun-filled week of activities, which included a cupcake sale, a memory balloon release and a sensory day, to name a few.

We finished the week off with a rock and roll-themed day. All the staff dressed up as pink ladies. We had ice cream floats and retro milk shakes with cream and a cherry on top! We rocked the afternoon away with Johnny Red singing classic songs from the movie ‘Grease’. We even had a hula hoop contest, with one resident putting all the staff to shame with her amazing skills!

And the Oscar Goes To...

And the Oscar Goes To...

Here at Collingtree Park Care Home. we had our very own awards afternoon to celebrate each and every resident and staff member. Our award categories were varied, and ranged from 'Cheekiest Smile' to the 'Loudest Laugh!' The afternoon was enjoyed by all and brought a smile to everyones' faces.

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter bunny left chocolate eggs around Memory Lane for us all! We went on a hunt to collect them all and Anthony did a great job spotting them; he found a lot of eggs and decided to share them out with everyone.

First Annual Parish Meeting

On Wednesday 19th April, Collingtree Park's Resident Ambassador attended the Annual Parish Meeting with General Manager, Rhiannon Crofts.

This was the first meeting of its kind intended to bring together the local parishes surrounding Collingtree, and we were invited to give a short presentation on the home.

We were warmly welcomed by both the parish & borough councillors, who reported on lots of parish matters that had arisen since 2016 and plans for forthcoming year - from lack of grass cutting to the imposing rail freight terminal and even the dangerous parking adjacent to Collingtree Health Club on Windingbrook Lane.

Rhiannon was introduced to the councillors and gave a detailed presentation on the home's facilities and services and her visions & hopes for Collingtree Park's future.

Resident Ambassador, Graham, proudly took to the floor to explain about life at Collingtree Park and how much he enjoys his time here as well.

The evening highlighted the need for local parishes to support and share more facilities within the community and they pledged to continue building new relationships.

Graham was treated to a lovely pint afterwards at The Wooden Walls in Collingtree Village.

Happy Easter Everyone!

The Easter bunny came to Collingtree Park and gave everyone a yummy chocolate Easter egg. Every resident had a huge smile on their face as soon as they see ‘Mr bunny’.

Big Snakes and Ladders

Big Snakes and Ladders

We all had a fun-filled Good Friday playing a big board game. All the residents loved playing in teams and seeing who could collect the most Easter eggs as we played. We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and finished up with some homemade hot cross buns!
