Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Lucia Pivetta
Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
Knit and Natter
We love our Knit and Natter at Collingtree. We have some very talented knitters so we thought we would put this to good use! We have all been knitting squares, which we will sew together and make into blankets. Our knitting group is a great way to get our ladies together and have a good ‘natter and giggle’. We all enjoy to reminiscence about how we learnt to knit and the ladies especially love teaching our Activities Coordinator Rachel their special skills.
Christmas Crafts
Christmas has well and truly arrived at Collingtree with our Christmas tree’s delivered only a few days ago and decorated with the help of our residents! The home is looking magical and everyone is especially impressed with our singing Santa in the heart of the home. We are all in the Christmas spirit and have been Christmas crafting, our residents thoroughly enjoyed making snow men which we created by using only men socks and rice!
Gentlemen’s Club
Our monthly men’s only evening is always a hit. This month the men of Collingtree park had a relaxed evening playing cards, dominoes and snooker and of course the evening wouldn’t have be complete without a nice cold beer in hand! We can’t wait to see what the gentlemen of Collingtree park will be up to next month.
Pottersheart Craft Group visit with a donation of Twiddle Muffs
Activities for our residents living with dementia can often become ineffective as the disease progresses into the late stage. It can be common for our residents to have restless hands particularly if they have been accustomed to performing manual activities such as knitting or playing a musical instrument prior to living with dementia.
Twiddle muffs provide an engaging entertaining way to occupy the hands of our residents with many finding them calming, having something to keep their hands busy with the bits and bobs attached help focus attention and reduce agitation.
Collingtree Park cannot say a big enough thank you to the Pottersheart Group for their kind donation. We are so grateful to them all for all their hard work put in to make these twiddle muffs, I can’t tell you how much it benefits our residents here at Collingtree.
The Christmas season as well and truly begun here at Collingtree Park and what a better way than to share the season of goodwill with this wonderful donation.
Guy Fawkes Night
Collingtree Park Guy Fawkes wouldn’t be complete without our own ‘Penny for the Guy’ made by our creative activity team. The residents giggled at our guy which we named Simon! During the day we did some firework painting which the residents enjoyed followed by a November the 5th quiz to test of our history knowledge! We shared old pictures and reminisced about how we used to celebrate Guy Fawkes when we was younger and finished up with a sing song about guy.
Halloween
Residents, staff and relatives had a fun filled Halloween party here at Collingtree Park. We played spooky games which included witches golf, Pumpkins splat and pass the ‘Creepy’ parcel. Our kitchen team made a homemade spooky cake which was enjoyed thoroughly.
