Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Lucia Pivetta

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

100 Words this Week

Weekly word game! This morning we played our weekly word game on Bluebell walk. This activity is great as it keeps our residents minds active and exercises the brain. Playing games like this regularly supports brain function too.

This week we managed to find 100 words!

A walk to remember!

Avis and I like to occasionally take a walk in the evenings, around the houses and reminisce. However, we opted for a change of scenery on Friday and took a stroll around the local golf course.

We ended up strolling a little further than anticipated and were chauffeured by the lovely David, who took us to see his lovely garden and showed us the "scenic" route of the course too in his golf buggy!

Thank you David - Avis really enjoyed our detour, but she enjoyed a cup of tea on our return more!

Father's Day Fun for All

What a wonderful day we had celebrating Father's Day on Sunday. Our residents were treated to a BBQ tea, with burgers, sausages and beer - followed by a cool treat, ice cream cones for all!

All of our resident fathers received a goody bag to celebrate too. Thank you to our carers and kitchen staff for making this day special for our residents.

Congratulations Joan!

We play carpet bowls every week, and take it very seriously. The group's winners change regularly and today it was the delighted Joan. Well done on your win and enjoy the sweet treat prize, let's see if you can keep the title on the next round.

Exercise Hoopla

Thank you Anya from G-Fitness for hosting an exercise session for our Daisy Lane residents - they loved to get moving whilst enjoying song and dance too!

Joan said she really enjoyed the workout and Pam said it's even better with the music too.

It is so important that our residents keep active, and these tailored classes are slower paced and involve holding poses for longer periods of time, improving muscle strength for our residents.

Carers Week Treats

Carers week is a chance for us all to show our appreciation to our dedicated team who care for our residents. Carers are the heart of the home who show love, compassion, empathy and care. The residents love them all and trust them to look after them.

Chocolates, cool drinks, sweeties (and more!) … just a little thank you for the massive job you all do. Barrie and Derek got involved by presenting some of our team with a treat for working so hard to make the Daisy Lane community feel 'more like home'.

So if you're stopping by this week, make sure to thank the wonderful team at Collingtree for the work they do!
