Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Happy Birthday 'Graham'
More birthday celebrations at Collingtree park today as we celebrated Graham turning 85! Graham loved his presents, particularly a new watch from his daughter! He loved seeing old friends, singers Katie and Lesley, and enjoyed sharing his Barchester birthday cake with his friends this afternoon. We'll all sleep well tonight Graham!

Happy 100th birthday Beautiful 'Betty'
Celebrations were in full swing at Collingtree Park care home at the weekend as one of its residents reached her centenary in style. Florence Davis, better known at ‘Betty’ was joined by staff and fellow residents to receive her extra special 100th birthday cake created by Chef Jennifer Briggs. On seeing the cake beautiful birthday girl Betty said: I’ve never had a cake like this before and I shall remember it forever.”
Betty is a true Northampton native having lived in the house she was born in until June this year. She spent all of her working life, with the exception of the war, at the Co-op office in the town. An avid traveller in her younger years, Betty is a true 'sun-lover' who has enjoyed many trips across Europe, America and Japan.
Sadly, Betty's vision is now impaired however this never holds her back from trying something new, she continues to throw herself into the many activities on offer at Collingtree Park care home where she now resides.
On her birthday; Sunday 1st October Betty attended a super party with her family and close relations in Grendon, Northamptonshire where she was treated to her favourite lunch; roast beef and Yorkshire puds! Betty said: “I’ve had a fabulous day, I can’t wait to do it all again next year.”
Nikki Allen, General Manager of Barchester Collingtree Park added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable women as she reaches this amazing milestone. Betty is such a popular resident who brightens our home on a daily basis. We wish her all the very best as she breaks into her next century.”

Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning.
Thank you to Carole and Peter from Zing Entertainment for joining us to celebrate our Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning. Our residents on Memory Lane had a wonderful time singing along to their favourite songs with Mo and Clive singing along to "Dream and Little Dream" and having Jean show us her dance moves!
This afternoon we enjoyed fun and games, and gave our bear his name BRUNO. Lisa doesn't want him to leave, so we might have to hang onto him for another week. Residents also enjoyed guessing the sweets in the jar and eating them afterwards too!

Day Trip to Delepre Abbey
This week we decided to get out and about with our residents. We have enjoyed coffee and cake and browsing the shops at Dobbies and watching golf over at the Collingtree Park Golf Club too! Yesterday Mick, Barbara and I enjoyed a trip to Delepre Abbey, to enjoy the fresh air, flowers and a little snippet of countryside.
Mick loved looking at all the flowers, and the tomatoes in the secret greenhouse, while Barbara browsed the second hand book shop and picked up her next novel.

Visit to Golf Club Coffee Morning
In preparations for our Macmillan Coffee Morning, we thought it was only right Doreen and I got into the spirit early with a trip to Collingtree Park Golf Club for our own coffee morning!
Doreen said "It was wonderful to get out and the coffee was the best I've ever had. I shan't forget today as it's been lovely to see the golfers on the green while enjoying my lunch with a view".
Doreen is looking forward to our coffee morning on Friday 29th September in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, where she hopes to be the winner of our "name the bear" competition! Entries are £2 and can be taken at reception.
