Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

Up Singing and Dancing
Yesterday we had a wonderful afternoon singing and dancing with Lesley Ann Vocalist Entertainer and Katie-Rose. Our residents enjoyed hits from their younger days, as well as singing acappella to some classics! We look forward to seeing Katie and Lesley soon for more singing and dancing.

Event Planning with Friends
It was great to meet with Sharon and Penny from Collingtree Parish Council yesterday to discuss future events with our residents in the wider community.
We shared ideas about social inclusion and upcoming events, as well as potential outings too. Our upcoming events include: Dementia Café (6th September from 2:30pm-4:30pm at Collingtree Park Care Home), Fish and Chips supper and quiz (15th September, 7:00pm-10:00pm at the Collingtree Village Room).
Very exciting times ahead!

Scrumping Apples
Autumn is approaching and this morning Barrie and Skye made the most of the blue skies and went "scrumping" in our garden, collecting this years apples from our garden trees.
Apple picking is a great way to gain a little outdoor exercise, walking around the garden Barrie reminisced about keeping an allotment with his own fruit and veg and the lovely meals he used to make. These apples will make be used to make healthy snacks during the baking club.

Weekly Keep Fit with G-Fitness
Our residents enjoyed using resistance bands and bouncy balls to improve their muscle strength and flexibility with Anya from G-Fitness. After the keep fit session, residents enjoyed a cup of tea and reminisced about the sports they used to play in their younger years - including; ice skating, horse riding and netball!

'Eva' Dog Therapy
We love it when Gaye and Eva from Pets As Therapy UK pay us a visit. Eva has been busy visiting lots of our residents from both communities, enjoying lots of fuss and even more treats. Thank you Gaye for coming in on your day off to see us, and fitting us into Eva's very busy schedule!

Thumbs Up for Word Search
We kick started our week using brain power on Bluebell Walk with our weekly word game! Today word was chosen by Roy, "septuagenarian" - a person who is between the ages of 70 and 79 years old.
Well, between us we managed to find 237 words - a new record. The ladies were very impressed and gave Roy's word a big thumbs up.
