Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
Thumbs Up for Word Search
We kick started our week using brain power on Bluebell Walk with our weekly word game! Today word was chosen by Roy, "septuagenarian" - a person who is between the ages of 70 and 79 years old.
Well, between us we managed to find 237 words - a new record. The ladies were very impressed and gave Roy's word a big thumbs up.
Puzzle Swaps
One of our residents, Eileen, loves to complete jigsaw puzzles. She has quite a selection, however we noticed a lot of these were ones she had already completed. After having a sort out Eileen chose to donate some of her puzzles to the residents on Daisy Lane.
We thought this was extremely kind, so decided to return the favour, by buying two new puzzles for Eileen to complete. Eileen said "You can come back tomorrow to see them completed!".
Indoor Fun & Games!
Indoor games on Bluebell walk - our residents loved tackling the tin can alley and making dominoes pyramids this afternoon. We also enjoyed games of snakes and ladders and indoor golf!
National Dog Day
As well as furry family members, we have regularly scheduled visits from Eva the Pets as Therapy dog and her owner Gaye. Collingtree Park is a dog-friendly care home, and we welcome (well-trained) dogs to visit our residents and staff, provided they are kept with their owner at all times.
Andy Performs Musical Numbers
Thank you to Andy for a fabulous piano performance for our Daisy Lane community. Residents enjoyed classics from Phantom of the Opera, All Creatures Great and Small, as well as musical numbers from ABBA and Dirty Dancing!
Mavis and Jean particularly loved 'Amazing Grace' and 'White Cliffs of Dover', and sang every word. Thank you Andy, we can't wait to have you back.
Music and Movement; Yoga and Dance
Music and Movement and Chair Yoga- keeping our residents active throughout the week. Our residents (and staff) enjoyed light exercises, stretching and relaxing throughout our chair yoga session. Then we picked up the pace for music and movement in the afternoon - where Pam and Margaret taught Gemma and Skye how to waltz!
