Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
Happy Birthday 'Joan'
It was smiles alround on Sunday as we celebrated lovely resident Joan's birthday!
All of our residents celebrate their birthdays in Barchester style with a freshly baked cake made by our talented hospitality team.
Pretty Plant Display
The Collingtree Park Gardening Club sprang into action as the sun shone today to create a beautiful display of hanging blooms and edible herbs. The group have even set up a watering rota to ensure their little plants are nurtured to their full potential.
Multisensory Sunday
A multisensory approach becomes even more important for our Memory Lane residents. Bright colours, playful movements, funny sounds and tactile objects can all catch the attention of an individual in a way that more complicated activities no longer can. Our residents have really enjoyed using fidget toys as a way to engage their senses as well as improving flexibility and dexterity.
International Nurses' Day
Last week we said thank you to nurses, with Barchester goodie bags. Manager Tom delivered the bags to Danes Camp Surgery, White Hills Surgery, and St. Crispin's Home within Northampton. Thank you to all of the nurses who go above and beyond to support our residents - and everyone!
Mental Health Awareness
We took part in the annual Mental Health Awareness week by hosting a variety of themed activities and awareness sessions. During the week, our residents enjoyed afternoon tea in the garden, a variety of games and activities to encourage friendships and wellbeing as well as created their own personal memory boxes to help with their development.
Our main focus was to raise awareness whilst having fun, so we brought music and comedy to our home to boost everyone’s mental health by singing, dancing and laughing. A great time was had by all.
Sensory Afternoon
As well as Mental Health Awareness Week, this week is also Dementia Action Week. Throughout the week we are delivering a range of dementia friendly activities to our Daisy Lane Community. Today we hosted a sensory afternoon for our residents as we enjoyed bubbles, music and dancing.
Bubbles are a great way to reach people, what ever age or ability, but this is something especially useful in dementia. Bubbles can quickly offer a way in, as a great in-the-moment distraction that can make a residents' day happier and brighter instantly!
