Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Lucia Pivetta

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Highlighting 5* Hospitality!

We'd like to celebrate our Head Chef Jennifer and the Collingtree Park hospitality team. Jennifer has worked in the Healthcare Sector for the past 8 years and has a further 27 years’ experience of working in hospitality.

Since joining the team her culinary skills have transformed our residents’ meal times. Jennifer, along with her hospitality colleagues love to share ideas to constantly keep up with the latest trends to produce some appetising dishes. Getting the right balance is a must!

Yesterday’s menu was a fabulous example of just how flavoursome and enticing mealtimes have become. With a starter of homemade Mushroom soup or Feta Cheese salad followed by Beef Lasagne or Spicy Vegetable Burger. The sweet treat desert choices were a delight with rice or strawberry cream pudding to finish.

Our residents absolutely loved each dish, saying they were presented well, tasty and nutritious. We’d like to say a massive THANK YOU to our wonderful hospitality team for all they do and the pleasure they bring to our residents with every meal they produce. “Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness.” - Auguste Escoffier.

Celebrating St David's Day

We've had a wonderful day creating St David's Day bunting and decorating Daisy Lane with daffodils and leeks and all things Welsh. Residents enjoyed an information session about St. David, followed by tea and a Welsh cake. It was interesting to learn about the history of our Welsh residents and even practice some Welsh words and phrases.

We also had a Tom Jones singalong (and dance) on Bluebell Walk, finding alternative uses for the leeks!

Alpaca Animal Magic!

What a lovely day residents had yesterday, with a visit from Easton Way Farm Thank you Dani and Nick for bringing Malibu, Coco and Aurora to visit our residents, who thoroughly enjoyed petting and feeding the alpacas. Residents commented on their fluffy coat and smiley faces.

One resident said "You can’t help smiling when you stroke them, they are so soft it just makes you feel calm". Visits from animals can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as encouraging exercise and playfulness!
