Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Martin Tilly-Reed

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park

My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.

I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here  to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Afternoon Tea with Friends

On Friday Staff and Residents of Collingtree Park Care Home welcomed the local Parish Council and wider Collingtree Community into our home for an afternoon of Entertainment by Lissie Allsopp along with a scrumptious Afternoon Tea lovingly prepared and presented by the homes hospitality team for all!

It was wonderful to see so many people supporting our home and able to enjoy a good old sing-song courtesy of the sensational Lissie, who dressed in wartime attire had everyone singing along to classics from Jazz & Swing to Musical Theatre, and the 1920s.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was involved in facilitating this event and to all our amazing staff who work tirelessly to make events like these within our home possible.

We are officially GOOD, so let's party!

We are delighted our recent CQC inspection found Collingtree Park to be good in all five aspects of operation. This means our home is Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well Led. In particular the CQC report noted that residents are "supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives". We are over the moon the quality of care and lifestyle for residents has been recognised, so staff and residents had a party to celebrate.

A sparkly duo

We had a wonderful afternoon at Collingtree Park, singing and dancing along with our regular favourite entertainers, mother and daughter, Lesley-Ann and Katie-Rose, who were looking especially sparkly today.

Reptiles and Furry Friends

We were delighted to welcome Animals in Mind to Collingtree Park, with their assortment of unusual and wonderful animals, it was all about new sensory experiences including holding a snake and bearded dragon. Residents were intrigued and many were very happy to touch, stroke or hold them. There was also a long-haired guinea pig for residents who prefer a fluffy visitor.
