Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Lucia Pivetta

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

,

House!

We love our bingo afternoons so much at Collingtree Park that we have special boards to help our caller and players keep track of their numbers.

Balloon exercise

Balloons are a great way to keep our joints moving so at Collingtree Park our regular balloon tennis sessions give residents a chance to gently reach and stretch their arms, shoulders and backs without any sudden movements. And best of all...it is great fun, too!

Being creative with ceramics

At Collingtree Park we had a wonderful afternoon painting ceramic pots, plates and coasters. Residents were very proud of their finished items and are now proudly displaying them in their bedrooms.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Collingtree Park joined Collingtree Park Golf Club to hold a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, and also to remember a resident's granddaughter, who unfortunately passed away on the 8th September 2015 aged 26 years.

Residents joined up with the Collingtree Village residents for our coffee morning and to indulge in the wonderful array of homemade cakes, which were enjoyed sitting out on the golf club veranda.

Everyone was so generous and we raised a total of £672.45, which isn't enjoyable morning for a fantastic worthy cause.

Supporting the Community

Once again, our Memory Lane residents enjoyed a lovely morning at the Bee Hive Café, which is part of the Northgate Academy. The Bee Hive is based in Kingsthorpe Northampton, and the Café is run by young students aged 16—19 years with special educational needs. Our residents always feels relaxed by the warm welcome they receive from the students.

Birthday Celebrations

6th September in Collingtree Park was a very important day: our amazing resident, Joyce, turned 110 years young! This wonderful lady started her day at the hairdressers, before welcoming her family and friends to a birthday afternoon tea celebration.

Joyce opened her many cards and presents with her family and enjoyed a glass of champagne with her cake. Joyce had many birthday wishes from TV and radio celebrities, including Sara Cox, Ken Bruce, Ben Shepherd & Kate Garraway and, of course, her now regular birthday card from the Queen.

For a final tribute from her fellow residents, they released 110 bio-degradable balloons in her honour. Suffice to say, Joyce had an absolutely wonderful day!
