Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Lucia Pivetta

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

Elf Day

Elf Day

A huge thank you to everyone who sponsored our GM, Caroline, to wear an elf outfit for the day! So far, we have raised £85 in total, which will be donated to the Alzheimer's Society. The residents all had a giggle as Caroline ‘skipped’ around the home to show off her jingly outfit!

Christmas Church Service

Christmas Church Service

We had St Giles' Church join us in the home for a lovely Christmas service. As well as singing some carols, we listened to Martin share the story of Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas.

Tree Decorating

Tree Decorating

We have been very busy decorating the home all week. Everyone helped out with decorating the trees; so far, we have 5 trees in the home, so it was all hands on deck to help get them looking Christmassy.

Carpet Bowling

Carpet Bowling

We enjoyed a fun afternoon of bowling, which was enjoyed by everyone who participated. Not one person walked past the room without popping in for a go! Everyone got very competitive trying to get a strike!

Shopping Time

Shopping Time

We have had lots of trips out shopping for Christmas presents and to enjoy some of the lovely Christmas displays around Northampton. Most recently, we visited Wyevale Garden Centre, and off we went shopping for Christmas decorations, stopping off for a yummy hot chocolate along the way.

Northampton Beavers

Northampton Beavers

We had a lovely visit from the Northampton Beavers recently. They started the evening off by giving residents cards that they had made themselves. It was lovely to welcome them into our home and they really enjoyed singing carols and spreading Christmas cheer.

Once the singing was finished, we all enjoyed a yummy cup of hot chocolate with cream and mini marshmallows. One of the young Beavers told the residents what all his badges on his jumper were for and the residents shared stories with the children from when they were in Guides and Scouts.

Happy Christmas to all the Beavers – we hope to see you all again soon!
