Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Activities Coordinator

Lucia Pivetta

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Lucia and I'm one of the Activities Coordinators here at Collingtree Park care home. My role is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities. We offer something for everyone, including arts and crafts, games and live entertainment including visits to places of interest in the local area. I love to provide one-to-one time and sensory activities with residents who need a little more support.

Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular meetings with family and friends I can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining the Collingtree Park community.

We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home

A Walk to Remember

A Walk to Remember

We love raising money here at Collingtree Park so on our wigs went! We walked and wheeled along Windingbrook Lane with our lovely residents waving a bucket along the way. We stopped half way at The Greens coffee shop for tea and snacks, then on our way we went for the second half of the walk. We had so much fun and giggles along the way. Raising an amazing £60 just from passers-by! All for amazing foundation that we hold very close to our hearts, the Alzheimer’s Society.

Northampton High School

Northampton High School

On Friday 30th June, General Manager, Rhiannon Crofts, was invited to attend a morning assembly at Northampton High School for girls. Rhiannon attended with Resident Ambassador, Graham Langford. We had been invited to attend by the school’s knitting club, who have been busy making twiddlemuffs in partnership with members of Great Park Street Methodist Church in Wellingborough. Twiddlemuffs provide an engaging way to occupy the hands of residents living with dementia, with many finding them calming.

Rhiannon and Graham received a very warm welcome from the school and joined in the morning assembly, where they were presented with the twiddlemuffs by staff and a group of girls involved in the project. Collingtree Park cannot say a big enough thank you to both the girls at the High School and also to the members of Great Park Street Methodist Church. We are so grateful to them all for all their hard work put in to making these gifts.

Care Home Open Day

Care Home Open Day

The sun was shining and it was a perfect day for a garden party. Together with our friends and family, we enjoyed the sun with an afternoon packed with garden games, tea, Pimm's and lemonade. It was such a beautiful day to spend with our close friends.

God Save the Queen

God Save the Queen

Her Majesty's birthday was celebrated with afternoon tea fit for the Queen herself! We all sat and enjoyed the yummy cakes made by residents during our baking morning. We looked at old pictures of the Queen from when she was younger up until present day.

Yeehaw, Cowboy!

Yeehaw, Cowboy!

We had a cowboy-themed day with a morning filled with different games; our favourite was ‘wanted’, where we all searched the home for the most wanted people and items. It was so much fun and great exercise too! We finished the afternoon off with dancing and live country music as entertainment.

Jumbo Jenga!

Jumbo Jenga!

We all love a game of Jenga, so we decided to buy a jumbo version! Our new game went down a treat with residents. So much fun was had and they got very competitive as the tower got taller and taller. No one wanted to be the one to tip it over and lose!
