Activities at Cookridge Court Care Home

Residents, family, friends and team members had a wonderful evening watching the very talented Rob.

There was magic tricks galore, with plenty of comedy thrown in as well. The room was filled with laughter and applauses as Rob demonstrated some excellent magic. A homemade graze table and refreshments were all enjoyed throughout the interval.

It is definitely safe to say, everyone in attendance enjoyed this wonderful evening.

Residents and guests at Cookridge Court Care home in Leeds enjoyed a morning of pure entertainment with a live music performance that took place at the home.

Amazing Duo – The Bluebirds, who have previously been backing singers and who have toured with the wonderful Jane McDonald.  Their performance consisted of a show of ‘live and swinging’ with a selection of classic musical hits and big band including New York New York by Frank Sinatra, Singin’ in the rain by Gene Kelly and I wanna be like you from thr classic he Jungle Book.

Staff and residents at Barchester’s Cookridge Court Care home, in Leeds, took part in traditional celebrations to mark the Jewish celebration, Passover.

Passover is an eight day festival that is celebrated from the 5th to the 13th of the Hebrew month of Nissan.  It commemorates the emancipation of the Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt when God ‘passed over’ the houses of the Israelites during the last of the ten plagues.

Staff, residents and their guests at Barchester’s Cookridge Court care home, in Leeds were celebrating the birth of baby chicks this week at the home. There was a lot of egg-citement at the home as 10 chicks hatched throughout the week. Residents were able to pet and feed the chicks as they found their footing in their new home. The new additions will also be visited by children of our friends and family who have visited for lots of fluffy cuddles. 

General Manager Karen Francis said: “It was an eggs-cellent day when the eggs finally hatched! Residents at Cookridge Court Care Home as well as our team were all very excited about the new-borns. For anyone who would like to come for a visit of our chicken coop and have a tour of our home our doors are always open.”

Staff at Cookridge Court Care Home in Leeds have opened up their doors to welcome the emergency services personnel in their local area.  As a way of saying thank you to the paramedics, nurses, police officers, Fire service and other emergency services workers who don’t always have time for a breakfast break. The team and the residents of Cookridge Court Care Home provided free hot breakfast food and drink to all emergency service staff.

Karen Francis the General Manager of Cookridge Court Care Home extended the invitation throughout the local area, stating that “to say thank you for all of the great work our emergency services do for us, we here at Cookridge Court Care Home are inviting all members of the police, ambulance and fire services to pop in and take their morning break on us for free.

Residents and guests at Cookridge Court care home in Leeds enjoyed an afternoon of grins with a live music performance that took place at the home. Local singer – Brandon Cook performed a selection of classic hits including That’s Life by Frank Sinatra, L-O-V-E by Nat King Cole and Let’s Twist again by Chubby Checker.

Residents joined in with the singing, clapped along and even danced the afternoon away as Brandon performed their finale song Angels by Robbie Williams. The hospitality team at the home also provided a spread of treats and refreshments for guests to enjoy during the show.
