Activities at Crandon Springs Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Katherine Cork

Activities Assistant

Hello, my name is Kath and I’m the Activities Assistant here at Crandon Springs.

As part of the Activities and lifestyle enrichment team, I help in organising our daily activities, ensuring that all of our residents have a variety of activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives by providing meaningful and engaging activities and, having been both a teacher and care assistant in the past, have a wealth of experience behind me. You'll rarely find me without a smile and I'm very family orientated, and I love how both the residents' and colleagues Crandon Springs feel like a second family to me!

World's Biggest Coffee Morning!!!!!!

We raised an amazing £177.00.

On Friday morning we held our Macmillan Coffee Morning in our stunning Crandon Springs care home in Wells.

The coffee morning was well very supported by our residents, family and friends. We had an amazing selection of lovely homemade cakes and delicious snacks.

Thank you to Jenny, Sue, Colin, our residents, their families and our staff for their generous donations and support.

Michael our resident musician entertained in the lounge and everyone had a good singalong.

The raffle was won by a resident’s family member who was most pleased.

Thank you Sue and Jenny for supporting our activity coordinator, the Amazing Helen with serving cakes, teas and coffee.

A Big thank you to all our wonderful, caring team/staff!!! Always going the extra mile!!!!

Hairdresser Time!!!!

Here at Crandon springs we encourage our residents to make new friends

However recently one of our respite clients had a lovely surprise when meeting one of her oldest friends she hadn't seen for a long time who is a resident here.

Amy and Jessmay worked together at Clarkes Street 70 years ago

Amy was a local lass and Jessmay travelled down from the Highlands after graduating with a history and economic degree from Glasgow.

She only intended to stay a few years but never went back.

Today our lovely hairdresser Sophie had these old friends in the salon to have their hair done.

Thank you to all for attending our Volunteer Day!

Our Employee of the month went to the absolutely lovely Care Assistant, Sarah Hodges

Every month here at Crandon Springs care home we recognise an 'Employee of the Month'. Our colleagues, residents and relatives can nominate someone each month which means it makes the decision a slightly easier one because each and every one of our team are simply fab!

Our Employee of the month went to the absolutely lovely Care Assistant, Sarah Hodges. Sarah is passionate about everything she does at Crandon Springs and she has definitely gone that extra mile on more than one occasion, thank you for all that you do Sarah.
