Activities at Crandon Springs Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Katherine Cork

Activities Assistant

Hello, my name is Kath and I’m the Activities Assistant here at Crandon Springs.

As part of the Activities and lifestyle enrichment team, I help in organising our daily activities, ensuring that all of our residents have a variety of activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives by providing meaningful and engaging activities and, having been both a teacher and care assistant in the past, have a wealth of experience behind me. You'll rarely find me without a smile and I'm very family orientated, and I love how both the residents' and colleagues Crandon Springs feel like a second family to me!

Life at Crandon Springs Care Home

Thank you to our local GP Practice

As a thank you to Wells City Practice and Wells Health Centre, Crandon Springs have dedicated two benches to show our appreciation for the devoted work the practices have carried out during the pandemic.

Today our Home Service Advisor Bethany met the team from Wells City Practice to unveil and showcase our dedicated plaques on two of our residents garden benches. The benches will be thoroughly enjoyed by our residents in the coming summer months. This a small gesture from our colleagues and local residents to say thank you for such commitment to our community.

Thank you for continuing to put our community first. Crandon Springs looks forward to working alongside both practices to support our residents.

Virtual Concert for Wells Community

Crandon Springs wanted to give a sense of normality back to our local community, in doing this we hosted a virtual concert with local Wells band The Portraits!   Thank you so much for everyone who attended the evening, all 40 of you in total! We hope it gave you an accurate reflection of the life enriching activities our residents will be involved in but also resembles how committed we are to supporting local businesses and bands.   Thankyou so much for attending and of course, to The Portraits!

International Women's Day

The 8th of March celebrates International Women's Day. Marked annually International Women's Day is one of the most important days to celebrate women's achievements and raise awareness about women's equality.   To celebrate at Crandon Springs all of our colleagues here are wearing purple ribbons with pride. The purple ribbons represent the suffragette movement. "Purple, as everyone knows is the royal colour, it stands for the royal blood that flows in the veins of every suffragette, the instinct of freedom and dignity…" Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence, editor of Votes for Women.   We will wear our ribbons with pride.
