Activities at Cubbington Mill Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. The activities encourage interaction on a one to one basis, in small groups, in large groups and some are designed for the whole home including staff to be involved in.
We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) which ensures we are able to achieve and continually progress to enhance the quality of life for those we support in the home. We provide entertainers such as singers, musicians, magicians, puppeteers, poets and dancers. We also have regular exercise classes and arts and craft classes. Relatives and visitors will be able to see what me make in these classes on display around the home. We have regular trips out on the mini bus to visit garden centres, enjoy high tea, visit the butterfly farm and spend the day at the zoo with a picnic. We encourage the local community, schools, colleges and relatives to come and join us for activities, tea and cake and to visit to share their skills as much as possible.
Staff from across the home are always willing to help and share their knowledge and skills across a whole range of activities we have had everything from carers preforming Bollywood style dancing to cooking classes from the chef. We feel activities are a vital part of the residents lives to ensure they are stimulated mentally and entertained.

On 3, 1…2…3… Abracadabra!
Magicans Father & Son duo, Alex & George, entertained our lovely ladies and gents last Sunday with some of the best silly magic you’ve ever seen!
Residents performed and were apart of a “live show” direct from the homes dining room.
Staff gave feedback to Activity Coordinator Rose, saying, “Where on EARTH did you find them pair! It was so funny, residents loved the entertainment, everyone was laughing at suppertime about it all, especially as it was time for us to get our own back on Resident Ambassador Cheryl, hahaha”!
We can thank Sister home, Broadway Halls for this duo as we watched them performed in their home last year, at the homes Fete Day!

Enquiring Minds!
Resident, and former Ministry of Defence Scientist John, didn't want life to be put on pause when moving to a care home, but to nourish and fulfill things like 'normal'. So that's exactly what Acting Deputy Manager Caitlin, Activity Coordinator Rose, and John got together to do, inviting groups John used to visit in the community, to the comfort of our own home, hosting so far a German speaking group and Enquiring Minds, 'The Purpose of Art' discussion.
Residents have joined in for sessions held so far and thoroughly enjoyed their time, expressing how nice it is to talk to like minded people about subjects in common.

Zoom Video Call Wish
Making Wishes A Reality!
A wish fulfilment here at Cubbington Mill, in the form of Zoom video calls with loved ones.
Resident Paddy and Wife Diana, enjoyed a video call together with their Daughter Sara, capturing precious moments together on the homes technology. Resident Ambassador Cheryl, oversaw the whole event.
Apple Ipads play a vital role in residents lives here at Cubbington Mill, where meeting in the home would have usually took place, but for various commitments is not possible, the special link can still be created virtually.
Zoom video calls like this, mean the world to our relatives and residents!
