Activities at Elgar Court Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Kerrie Perks
Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court. I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake. I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club. In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Elgar Court Care Home
Classical Music with The Musical Memory Works!
Life enrichment is one of the cornerstones of Barchester Care for all our residents. Susie Vaughan from ‘The Musical Memory Works’ engaged the residents in a one-hour Workshop, using instruments to play along to the composer, Vivaldi’s first movement of Winter. Wonderful sounds emanated from our dining room, with one of the residents choosing a harp to play along to the music. How wonderful!
Going for Gold - Afternoon Cream Tea Delights
One of the many delights our home offers, is the hospitality we can offer residents and their friends. This week, our resident wanted to entertain their friends, and what better way than for our Chef to rustle up an afternoon cream tea of sandwiches, scones and clotted cream, and mini cakes – the cakes had gold leaf on it too! For more about the gold five star treatment your loved ones can expect at Elgar Court, please call us on: 01684 211720
Hello Hogan!
Hello Hogan!
Hogan from Pets As Therapy came to see us again for a friendly stroll to see our residents in our Café and visiting residents in their suites.
Pets As Therapy (PAT) is a national charity that enhances the health and wellbeing of thousands of people in communities across the UK. They visit many care homes to give residents who enjoy being with animals, an opportunity to spend time with them. Our residents, were delighted to see Andrea and Hogan. Many of our residents had family dogs in the past, and this was a lovely opportunity for them to tell everyone about the pets they had owned.
Thank you to Andrea, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
Mini concerts - Magic Musical Moments
Magic Musical Moments came to our home, with crooner Nick singing an amazing array toe tapping classics of old and new - Eidelweiss from the Sound of Music, to a bit of Motown’s ‘My Girl’! Nick went down a storm and we can’t wait to our next visit from Mini Concerts!

We Support our local fundraisers for Cancer Research UK
This weekend, will be the 25th annual Walk on the Malvern Hills for Cancer Research UK organised by the local Malvern committee of Cancer Research UK.
Elgar Court are proud to support our local community, so we baked a fruit cake to nourish the volunteers standing on the Malvern Hills who will be signposting fundraising walkers around the Malvern Hills. Good luck everyone and we hope you raise a lot of money for this worthwhile cause - and it stays sunny!
Pictured here receiving our fruitcake is Jeanne Harnden from the Malvern committee branch of Cancer Research UK. (You may also recognise Jeanne from last week’s social media post when she attended our fundraiser coffee morning for Macmillan Cancer Support and the Alzheimers Society).
