Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Tina Prosho
Hello. I am Tina, I have been a team member at Elm Bank since 2023 and began my career as a Team Leader and was upskilled to Head of Care before moving my role to become Activities Coordinator.
I am passionate individual with vibrant character and my goal is all about life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents. I ensure that the entertainment is stimulating and is inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important to me, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

The Elm Bank team had a wonderful time wishing Carer; Molly all the very best at her baby shower as she starts her maternity leave and adventures into motherhood. We can't wait to meet her 'little bundle of joy' when he arrives. Your Elm Bank family is as excited as you for his safe arrival. Take care and put your feet up! We'll all be waiting with arms open for plenty of cuddles.
Singing and Swinging with Steve
Steve Carmel came to sing for our residents and the care staff joined the fun, dancing the afternoon away.
Visiting Nursery Bring Smiles
This morning the residents at Elm Bank Care home enjoyed a visit from Abeona Warkton Nursery Kettering Northamptonshire. Residents joined in with colouring with the pictures and creating some colourful art work.
After the children got out some play doh to see if they could make some scary monster in the Halloween theme. The children talk about their creations and about upcoming their plans for Halloween. Telling residents about what they are planning on dressing up some included pumpkins and spiders. One telling Maybel 'spiders are not scary they are only little'.
Intergenerational Activities are Important and always bring smiles to our residents faces.
Ebony and Ivory

Anyone for Cards?
Monday means Card Club where the Residents enjoy a nice game of 7's, just one of our regular weekly events our residents just love to attend.
Happy 100th Birthday 'Helga'
Our second birthday celebration on Sunday 29th was a centenary celebration for 100 years young 'Helga'.
Helga started her birthday celebrations with a wonderful visit from family, before being joined on the day by staff, friends and other residents as she received her card and telegram from the King in recognition of her landmark birthday.
A party followed and everyone enjoyed a slice of the special birthday cake made and decorated by the home’s Second Chef Sophie.
German born Helga who moved to England with her mother after the First World War is very used high society parties, having worked for the Evening Telegraph as a photographer, she used to take photographs of all the visiting celebrities to Wicksteed Park when they attended the gala dinners.
The park is also where she met the love of her life, the then General Manager of Wicksteed Park. After marrying, Helga and he lived in the parks’ main house for several years before building their own home and settling in Cransley.
Helga was overwhelmed to receive a message from the King and adored all her gifts and flowers saying ‘I cannot quite believe this is all for me?’
Marvellous Bindura, General Manager of Barchester Elm Bank added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she reaches this amazing milestone. Helga is such a popular resident who always has an interesting tale to tell, and we look forward to hearing many more as she breaks into her next century.”
