Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Tina Prosho
Hello. I am Tina, I have been a team member at Elm Bank since 2023 and began my career as a Team Leader and was upskilled to Head of Care before moving my role to become Activities Coordinator.
I am passionate individual with vibrant character and my goal is all about life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents. I ensure that the entertainment is stimulating and is inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important to me, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Baby Doll for Daisy Lane
We'd like to send a very special 'thank you' to this young lady; 'Faith' who decided to donate her precious doll to the residents within our Memory Lane community.
Knowing that many of those living with dementia find caring for babies a real comfort Faith took time to personally deliver her doll as an act of kindness. Please be assured your doll will be loved and cared for at Elm Bank.
Nick Brings Laughter to Open Day
On Open Day we had a wonderful performance from Nick Golden. Nick had everyone laughing and smiling. Nick brought a comedic act to the home doing impressions of Norman Wisdom, dressing residents up and dancing with some singing.
One of our residents said ‘she can’t not wait for him to come back to the home and make everyone laugh again’.
Happy Birthday 'Perry'
Today we had the pleasure of presenting resident 'Perry' with a delicious chocolate lovers dream birthday cake in celebration of his 'young at heart' 76th birthday. Perry said he couldn't wait to enjoy a slice! Have a wonderful day from all your friends and the staff at Elm Bank. Have a wonderful day from all your friends and the staff at Elm Bank.
Maternity Leave Celebration
Please join us in wishing carer Chinnu all the very best as she leaves us to put her feet up and wait for the safe arrival of her little bundle of joy! Your Elm Bank family can't wait to see you again with your previous babe in arms.
Employee of the Month - September 2023
Elm Bank care home residents and colleagues wish to congratulate Housekeeper; Steve Bodsworth on receiving Employee of the Month. Steve has been nominated by his colleagues, and the residents for being so attentive, smiley and kind, and for always going the extra mile!
Home Manager; Marvellous said, "Steve is a key part of our housekeeping team, he’s made such a difference to the home since his return and our residents love him. We hope he enjoys spending his £25 voucher and his favourite tipple." Thank you Steve for your continued hard work and dedication to the Elm Bank family.
Pizza Making Master Class
Our menu today included a delicious home-made vegetable lasagne for World Pasta Day. However this afternoon our resident baking club members decided to go rouge, staying on an Italian theme but opting to make pizza!
From stretching the home-made dough to spreading the tomato sauce, our happy band of bakers had fun chatting to Mark and Garion. They chose their favourite toppings from ham with peppers to a meat feast medley, both with lashings of cheese. Everyone is looking forward to a supper time tasting, fresh from the oven courtesy of chef and the hospitality team.
