Activities at Fairview House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators create a weekly planner that consists of a variety of activities, which caters to all residents' needs as best as possible. The most popular activities are bingo, which we host twice a week, flower arranging and weekly visits from Vinnie our pet therapy dog. Residents also enjoy minibus trips in the nicer weather and we attend a concert every month. We are also involved in the Council Well-being Team, which keeps us up-to date with upcoming events within the community and provides interesting ideas for activities we can try in the home.
Throughout the year, we host various special events, including themed open days and summer and winter fetes that people in our local communities are welcome to join us for. We also have monthly church services with Rev. Ann from Danestone Congregational Church, which is open to loved ones as well.
Fairview House Activities Team
Chloe, Cecilia and Veronica make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Fairview House.
They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to the home and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Life at Fairview House Care Home
Into the deep....
Residents across our services enjoyed a fantastic virtual tour of The Deep, an award-winning aquarium in Hull.
Our residents dived into the underwater world of some fascinating creatures such as sharks, turtles and stingrays.
It was a truly immersive and educational experience that brought the wonders of the ocean right to our screens.
Whisky Tasting
"A wee dram or two?"
This afternoon saw our residents, relatives and colleagues come together for our community whisky tasting event.
Our residents and relatives were able to sample and enjoy a selection of various whiskeys and talked about the different tastes and flavours of this famous Scottish Beverage.
Our residents also enjoyed a fun whisky themed word search, courtesy of our friends at Oomph Wellness.
Pizza & Ale
Residents and relatives come together for our 'Pizza and Ale' event
Hosted by our homes community and activities team our guests enjoyed a selection of freshly baked cheese and tomato and pepperoni pizzas, paired with a selection of local ales and against the cosy backdrop of lights and jazz music, and lively conversations made it a memorable night.
Visit from the Ice Cream Van
Perfectly timed in the middle of sun filled afternoon, staff and residents at Barchester’s Fairview House Care Home in Aberdeen had a fantastic time as we welcomed the Beverley Lonie and her ice cream van to the home, a brilliant excuse to sample lots of cooling treats.
Residents, relatives and guests experimented with many different types of toppings and flavour combinations, from the exotic and back to the traditional – sorbets, frozen yoghurt and good old dairy-based ice cream, they tasted and savoured them all.
Nigeria Day
As a home we're proud of the diversity that makes up our home and family and in what will become a regular event in the home, we wished to celebrate the culture of our dear and much valued Nigerian colleagues.
Our dedicated colleagues embracing their rich culture, bringing vibrant dress wear and dance to life for our beloved residents and relatives.
Later the aroma of delicious Nigerian dishes filled the dining room as our team prepared authentic mouthwatering meals. Our audience enjoyed experiencing the authentic flavors of Nigeria.
Blooming creations
We love showing our creative sides and were delighted when we received a selection of beautiful flowers from a family member and were soon placing in vases to display around the home, the colourful vases were soon brightening up a cold damp spring day. Thank you!
