Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Chloe Collins
I have moved to Falmouth from Kent where I was already in place at another Barchester home as the Activities Coordinator. I love providing our residents with fulfilling activities and my specialty is arts and crafts. I have a degree in Fine Arts and achieved a first in the subject. I strive to provide our residents with a varied range of life enriching activities. I like to get to know each residents and their interests to I can tailor activities to individuals interests and hobbies.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Falmouth Court Care Home
Charity Donation
Falmouth Court presented Grays Wharf Arts CIC in Penryn with a cheque for £500 towards materials and equipment. The money is to support this Community Interest Company with the creative arts groups they run.
The grant had been awarded by Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, a charity that helps older people and adults with a disability or mental health problems across England, Scotland and Wales by offering grants to help people connect or re-connect with others in their local community.
General Manager, Haley Reeve-Larson and Home Services Advisor, Hugh Dickinson were welcomed to the afternoon session held for over 65’s to present the cheque and celebrate being awarded the grant. They took along some delicious cakes baked by the homes Head Chef, Jon Moyle and some goodie bags for all to enjoy.
Megan Beck, Director of Grays Wharf, said “The generous grant from Barchester has enabled us to buy art supplies for our creative social groups, supporting us to keep them going. Our members often comment on how great it is to have access to a wide range of drawing and painting materials, inspiring them to have a go and be proud of what they create”
Trip to Carnon Downs Garden Centre
We've just had the most wonderful day out for our residents at Falmouth Court Care Home! We visited Carnon Downs Garden Centre to stock up on plants for our gardening club, and everyone had a fantastic time. Our residents were able to choose their favorite flowers to our garden, and we even stopped for tea and cake in the garden centre's lovely café. It was such a joy to see everyone so happy and engaged in the activity, and we can't wait to see our garden flourish with all the new additions. Thank you, Carnon Downs Garden Centre, for such a wonderful experience!"
Enjoying the Spring Sun
The residents of Falmouth Court Care Home are absolutely loving the beautiful weather today and they're making the most of it by spending time in our lovely garden! It's so wonderful to see everyone outside, enjoying the fresh air and soaking up some Vitamin D. We're incredibly proud of our staff who always go above and beyond to ensure that our residents have the best possible quality of life. Here's to more sunny days and happy moments at Falmouth Court!
Gardening Club gets underway at Falmouth Court
Great news from Falmouth Court Care Home! The residents have started their very own gardening club!
The club is a wonderful way for our residents to get outside and enjoy the fresh air while planting, tending, and nurturing their very own garden. Not only is gardening a great way to stay active and healthy, but it also provides a sense of purpose and accomplishment.
Our residents are thrilled to be able to share their love of gardening with each other and to see the fruits (and veggies!) of their labor grow over time. We can't wait to see what they will create together in their garden.
Trip to the Beach Café
Just got back from a heartwarming outing with the residents of Falmouth Court! We took a trip down to Gylly Beach Café for some coffee and it was wonderful to see how much they enjoyed themselves. The sun was trying to shine and there was a gentle sea breeze blowing, which made for a perfect day out. It was great to be able to get everyone out of the care home and give them a change of scenery. The staff at the cafe were so accommodating and made us all feel very welcome. I'm sure this outing will be a cherished memory for all involved.
Falmouth Court Create Window Display for Sue Ryder Charity Shop.
Residents of a Falmouth Court care home have teamed up to create a beautiful display of paper butterflies for the window of their local Sue Ryder charity shop in Falmouth. The project, which took place in the home’s activity room, was a labour of love for the residents who were thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to their community.
Working together, residents carefully crafted over 60 paper butterflies in a range of colours and sizes. Each butterfly was lovingly made with attention to detail and a sense of joy that was evident in the final product.
The butterflies are now on display in the window of the Sue Ryder charity shop, where they have become a popular attraction for passersby. Customers and staff members alike have expressed their admiration for the display, with many noting how the colourful butterflies bring a sense of joy and happiness to their day.
"We are absolutely delighted with the display that the residents of the care home have created," said Simon Walker, Manager of the Sue Ryder charity shop. "It is so heartwarming to see the community come together in this way, and we are grateful for the efforts of everyone involved."
The project has had a positive impact on the residents of the care home as well, providing them with a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Staff members report that residents are thrilled to see their work on display and are eager to start on their next creative project.
