Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Chloe Collins
I have moved to Falmouth from Kent where I was already in place at another Barchester home as the Activities Coordinator. I love providing our residents with fulfilling activities and my specialty is arts and crafts. I have a degree in Fine Arts and achieved a first in the subject. I strive to provide our residents with a varied range of life enriching activities. I like to get to know each residents and their interests to I can tailor activities to individuals interests and hobbies.

Life at Falmouth Court Care Home
Trip to B&Q to buy Garden Supplies
As we are now heading towards spring our residents are keen to get their gloves on and start preparing the garden for the summer. We loaded up the minibus and took them along to B&Q to select an array of bulbs and plants along with planters and also some seeds to grow our own tomatoes.
Everyone really enjoyed selecting their favorites and our activities team will now be incorporating 'Garden Club' into their weekly activity schedule.
Poppy Donation
A huge Thank you to Helen for her kind donation of these beautiful poppies for our Café Lounge. Helen kindly donated this wonderful bouquet for our residents to enjoy. Seen here with 'Dawson' one of our PAT (Pets as Therapy) dogs that she brings in regularly to visit everyone here at Falmouth Court.
Our residents love their visits with Dawson. He is such a calm and lovely boy and as we all know there is nothing better than animal therapy. Something we aim to provide a lot of here.
Bridge Club at Falmouth Court
Bridge Club has now started at Falmouth Court! We have a few residents wanted to start playing bridge so Falmouth Bridge club have kindly agreed to come along and play with our residents. Our Ladies were most pleased to start playing one of the most entertaining and beloved card games of all time, Bridge is the perfect game for all seasons, all genders and all ages but is especially enjoyed by the elder community.
National 'Feed the Birds Day'
To celebrate National 'Feed the Birds Day' we loaded up some of the residents of Falmouth Court into our minibus and headed down to Swanpool lake to feed the birds. Everyone was thrilled to have a stroll along the lake side and the birds were thrilled to have the feeding too!
After we took everyone up to Falmouth Golf Club for some coffee and refreshments and everyone enjoyed the spectacular view over Falmouth bay towards St. Anthony's Head.
National Activity Providers Week
Happy National Activity Providers Week! We would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful Activity Coordinators here at Falmouth Court, Davis Saunders and Chloe Collins.
We are proud of each and every one of our team for the unique, outstanding activities and entertainment they bring to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.
As part of the week, our Activities Coordinators have been taking part in a whole host of events provided by NAPA, connecting and sharing ideas with teams across the country.
Special celebrations are also taking place at the home throughout the week with residents, friends and fellow colleagues.
Another trip to Carnon Downs Memory Café
Supporting our local community is very important to us here at Falmouth Court. Along with enhancing our residents lives to be the fullest that can possibly be.
This week we loaded up the minis bus with residents and took them along to Carnon Downs Memory Cafe, being previous attendees we wanted to make sure they can still carry on this aspect of their life that they enjoy so much.
Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of music from singer Nigel Skewes, along with added fun game of balloon tennis, tea and cake.
