Activities at Florence Court Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jessica Duery

Senior Activities Co-Ordinator

I have been working in the Care Sector for 5 years and started out as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant. I decided that I wanted to progress my career in an Activities capacity so became an activities provider then progressed to an Activities Co-Ordinator which I did for 2 years prior to joining the team at Florence Court . I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the residents life's through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and spending time with them finding out what they love to do. Every day is very different and rewarding.

Life at Florence Court Care Home

Pimms O'Clock

We made the most of the lovely weather and enjoyed a glass of Pimms in the sunshine this week. Our residents enjoyed laughing and chatting with friends whilst soaking in the beautiful British summer sun!

Enable Goes Live

Today was the launch day of our new digital care plan system Enable!

We are now using handheld digital technology called 'Enable' internally to develop, update and manage our care and life enrichment documentation for residents.

Our amazing team have been busy over the last few weeks transposing all paper care plans onto the digital system, ensuring everything was set up for a smooth transition. We would like to express our appreciation and gratitude to our all wonderful Florence Court team for all their hard work recently and for making launch day such a success

We celebrated with cake and an amazing performance from one of our favourite singers Marcus.

Fathers Day BBQ

We celebrated Father's Day in style at Florence Court!

Our residents enjoyed a special BBQ in our beautiful gardens. We enjoyed live music from Amanda Parsons - Songbird Entertainments and lots of delicious food prepared by our kitchen team and barbecued by our wonderful maintenance man with a little help from resident ambassador Eddie. Families joined together to honour the amazing fathers and father figures in our community.

Thank you to everyone who made this day memorable. Happy Father’s Day!

Carers Week

Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at Florence Court.

We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

As part of the week, our carers received lots of sweet treats throughout as a token of our appreciation for their dedication to our home.

Gardening Club

This week we’ve enjoyed getting out in the garden and refreshing our hanging baskets with some summer blooms. Our residents love spending time in the garden, especially when the sun is shining!

Daedalus D-Day 80

We spent a lovely afternoon at Daedalus D-Day 80 Our residents loved looking round all the stalls and displays they had there, admiring the RAF planes and then seeing the amazing Red Arrows flyover.

Some of our residents have military backgrounds and all remember the war, so this was lovely for them to reminisce! One resident has never seen the Red Arrows and was especially excited to get the opportunity.
