Activities at Florence Court Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Jessica Duery
I have been working in the Care Sector for 5 years and started out as a Domestic and Laundry Assistant. I decided that I wanted to progress my career in an Activities capacity so became an activities provider then progressed to an Activities Co-Ordinator which I did for 2 years prior to joining the team at Florence Court . I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the residents life's through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and spending time with them finding out what they love to do. Every day is very different and rewarding.

Life at Florence Court Care Home
Tea, cake and catching up at Pink Mead Cafe
We popped out in our minibus for some tea and cake at Pink Mead Cafe, where we made a new friend!
It was a lovely afternoon and enjoyed by all ending with us loudly singing our favourite songs all the way home
A trip to Portsmouth Museum
Our minibus trip to visit Portsmouth museum was good fun and very informative. We enjoyed walking round admiring all the artwork, reminiscing with the room reconstructions, having a laugh with the sailor slot machine and playing a good old game of Table football.
Working with our Community
Working with other professionals in our community to support residents and families is all part of our role. Social Prescribers do an amazing job and we are proud to work together where we can.
Planting for Spring
Thinking of our beautiful garden, residents have been out in our minibus to buy bulbs and plants and then spent the afternoon enjoying planting up our pots ready for Spring🌺
