Activities at Forest Care Home
We have regular outings in our minibus to different places of interest including local country parks, the Tramway museum, Matlock and a number of Ice cream parlours. When we are not out on trips we are busy baking, making different craft projects, using the sensory equipment and Pet Therapy. We have entertainers who come in and get our residents up and moving.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Forest Care Home is fun and active. The activities at Forest Care Home are planned to be person centred and adapted to cater for everyone's abilities and all staff participate. For example one of our residents enjoys house work and everyday she assists the housekeepers to tidy around the unit.

Life at Forest Care Home
Keeping Fit
Residents and staff are seen here enjoying a new activity; our residents relay enjoyed keeping active and fit.
Foot Spa Afternoon
Some of our residents enjoyed having a foot spa afternoon. Here is one of our residents, Marie, having a nice relaxing time.
Vaccination Day
Our Resident Ambassador, Brenda, was the first resident at Forest Care Home to receive her COVID-19 vaccine! All our residents have now been vaccinated and it was a great day. Residents received a bear after their vaccines, which brought a smile to them and all involved.
Christmas at Forest
We had a Christmas-themed fancy dress night, with best dressed winning a lovely prize. Residents also enjoyed making festive crafts for our dining tables. Staff took part in Christmas Pyjama Day and residents loved seeing them all in their jammies.
Christmas Cheer
Residents have enjoyed decorating our Christmas tree in the lounge and our lovely communal area.
A Kind Donation
We were donated a lovely bench from one of our late residents' family members. We have now placed this bench in our garden and decorated it for the festive period.
