Activities at Forest Care Home
We have regular outings in our minibus to different places of interest including local country parks, the Tramway museum, Matlock and a number of Ice cream parlours. When we are not out on trips we are busy baking, making different craft projects, using the sensory equipment and Pet Therapy. We have entertainers who come in and get our residents up and moving.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Forest Care Home is fun and active. The activities at Forest Care Home are planned to be person centred and adapted to cater for everyone's abilities and all staff participate. For example one of our residents enjoys house work and everyday she assists the housekeepers to tidy around the unit.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Forest Care Home
Garden Party
We had a lovely summer and enjoyed outdoor activities almost every day. This garden party was also the launch of our ice cream stall and listening to our outdoor entertainer. Our maintenance man Josh amazed us all with our new ice cream stall where we also served iced beverages.
Remembrance Day
We had a few tears on Remembrance Day, as residents spoke about their time during the war and the effects it had on their families.
Park Outing
We took advantage of the recent spell of autumn sunshine to go and say hello to our local wildlife at Vicar Waters Park in Clipstone Mansfield Notts. The swans and ducks were very appreciative of the treats supplied, and gave us some lovely photos and memories.
Shopping & Lunch
We enjoyed a shopping and lunch date recently; we trawled the shops buying shoes, slippers and socks. After shopping, we visited The Swan and enjoyed a meal in their new conservatory. We were very well looked after and will definitely be returning soon.
70th Anniversary Celebrations
A couple celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary here at Forest Care Home recently. We prepared some delicious food for the occasion and gifted them with some presents. Congratulations to both!
A Day at the Park
Resident, Maurice, enjoyed a day out at our local park with Carer, Leo, watching a local brass band perform. They had a wonderful time and the ice creams were flowing!
