Activities at Glebefields Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Glebefields care home residents and colleagues wish to congratulate Snobia on receiving Employee of the Month for November 2021.

Snobia is an amazing care assistant, she always helps out everyone. Often steps to help with activities to ensure our residents are looked after and they enjoy their day. She has helped out in the kitchen, no job is too big for her; she is appreciated by all the residents and team members.

She’s an essential part of the Glebefields team. We all hope Snobia enjoys her voucher and Barchester accolade, it’s very much deserved.

Christmas Wreath Competition

Our residents enjoyed getting together to design and decorate our Christmas wreath that will enter the Barchester Wreath Competition.

We had a virtual wreath making masterclass to help them get some ideas and our Activities Coordinator; Kay assisted the residents in bringing their imagination to life. She organised a little workshop with amazing decorations to put on our wreath.

Paul, Alvar and Myrtle have designed a beautiful wreath using cinnamon sticks, mix of dried fruits, small bits of pussywillow, few pine cones, red berries and red Christmas ribbon.

Well done to you all the wreath looks amazing, we are very proud of our crafty team here at Glebefields.

Christmas Spirit at Glebefields

Our residents have been getting into the wonderful Christmas spirit and festivity by doing some arts and crafts.

Over the weekend our care assistant Snobia had organised a workshop for our residents, to make a wooden Christmas home for a little Santa and his snowman. Everyone enjoyed taking part; Muriel has knitted two little hats for our Santa and snowman. Paul and Alvar have joined in for the making of our Santa and Snowman, while Jean and Violet were helping decorate their little home.

We have been undergoing refurbishment for the last 7 months, the contractors are now like part of the team and kindly helped us with the making of the wooden box as they gave us pieces of wood and glued it together. So we want to thank WREN contractors for all their help!
