Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

A Wonderful Day Out to Hunstanton!

A Wonderful Day Out to Hunstanton!

Today we enjoyed a lovely day out to Hunstanton, filled with fresh sea air, beautiful views, laughter and plenty of smiles. We enjoyed a delicious fish and chips lunch in the pub, took a gentle stroll along the beach and, of course, finished the day with a lovely ice cream!

We were also so grateful to Pete, Joan’s husband, who came along and joined us for the day. It was lovely having him with us and sharing such a special day together.

Today was about so much more than just a trip to the seaside.

For a couple of our residents, coming out of the home and into a completely different environment was a real step outside their comfort zone. We know that leaving familiar surroundings can sometimes feel challenging, but with lots of encouragement, patience and wonderful support from our team, they managed amazingly well.

Watching them experience something different, enjoy themselves and realise what they were capable of was incredibly rewarding. There were moments of uncertainty, but there were also smiles, laughter, good food, fresh air and memories made together.

We are so proud of our residents for stepping outside their comfort zones and embracing the day, and so grateful to our amazing staff for the reassurance and support they provided every step of the way.

Another beautiful day, another set of memories made, and a reminder that sometimes the best moments happen when we take a little step beyond what feels familiar.

A Spontaneous Trip to the Pub!

A Spontaneous Trip to the Pub!

When June said she really fancied a nice shandy on such a lovely hot day, we thought, why not! And we all know how much David enjoys a visit to the pub too!

So, what started as a last minute plan turned into a lovely afternoon out, enjoying a refreshing drink, good company and plenty of smiles.

A huge thank you to Ronnie for taking us out at such short notice and helping us make the afternoon so special. It’s these little spontaneous moments that create the loveliest memories.

What a wonderful afternoon we had in the garden today!

What a wonderful afternoon we had in the garden today!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our family afternoon tea. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with sunshine, relaxing background music, great conversation, laughter, and plenty of fun with our garden games. Seeing residents, families, friends, and staff enjoying time together created such a special atmosphere.

A heartfelt thank you to all the families who came along, our amazing staff who gave up their day off to support, our dedicated team who were working throughout the day, and our fantastic kitchen team for preparing such a delicious afternoon tea.

It was also so lovely to welcome some of our former staff back to Hampton Grove to say hello. Once part of our family, always part of our family!

A special thank you to Sharron from Tesco for coming along and supporting us, and to our wonderful District Nurse, Keisha, whose kind words really meant so much. She told us how much she loves all the activities we do here, and comments like that remind us why we are so passionate about creating meaningful experiences for our residents.

Thank you to every single person who helped make today so memorable. Days like these show the true spirit of Hampton Grove – bringing people together, making memories, and celebrating life.
We can’t wait to see you all again at our next event!

Simple Moments, Precious Memories: Lunch with Eve

Simple Moments, Precious Memories: Lunch with Eve

Sometimes it’s the simple moments that mean the most.

Today we enjoyed some special one-to-one time with our lovely Eve, treating her to a delicious lunch at Mamma Mia. She chose a beautiful pasta carbonara, which she thoroughly enjoyed, along with great conversation and plenty of smiles.

Spending quality one-to-one time with our residents allows us to focus on the things they love, create meaningful memories, and support their wellbeing in a truly person centred way.

Thank you to Mamma Mia for the warm welcome and helping make Eve’s day so special.

Eve who had requested a day our said that she thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon outing an the lovely meal along with the individual one to one time.

June Employee of the Month for Becky

June Employee of the Month for Becky

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that our incredible Activities Coordinator, Becky, has been named Hampton Grove’s Employee of the Month for June!

This recognition is so incredibly well deserved. Becky is the heart and soul of our home, constantly going above and beyond to create spectacular events and activities for our residents. From making dreams come true to organising unforgettable trips out whether it’s a quick pint at the local pub or a sunny day out at the beach, she makes sure our residents live life to the absolute fullest!

As you have all seen right here on our Facebook page, Becky loves throwing in those extra special, magical surprises for every occasion. She is deeply caring, devoted, and an amazing colleague to the entire team. Her patience, support, and dedication to creating truly meaningful moments for our residents shine through every single day.

General Manager Stefan and everyone who nominated you want to say a massive thank you for everything you do.
Huge congratulations, Becky! We are so lucky to have you on our team!

Celebrating Prosecco Day at Hampton Grove!

Celebrating Prosecco Day at Hampton Grove!

What better way to spend a beautiful afternoon than with a little “Pimp Your Own Prosecco”!

Our residents enjoyed getting creative with fresh strawberries, mint, lemon and plenty of delicious fruity flavours. We also had fresh fruit and the most beautiful pink strawberry cupcakes to enjoy.

There was music playing, wonderful conversations, great company, corks flying and lots and lots of laughter! It truly was a beautiful afternoon.

It was extra special to welcome daughters, granddaughters and sisters who joined us and made the afternoon even more memorable.

As we enjoyed our Prosecco and each other’s company, we also started making plans together for future events, outings and adventures because there’s always something exciting to look forward to at Hampton Grove!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the afternoon so special.

Cheers to friendship, family, laughter and making memories together!

A Beautiful Morning at Sacrewell Farm!

A Beautiful Morning at Sacrewell Farm!

What a truly lovely morning we had at Sacrewell Farm! We enjoyed meeting all the animals and, of course, making a big fuss of them.

There was plenty of reminiscing too, as our lovely Carole took a trip down memory lane and even enjoyed a ride on the park roundabout! Carole originally said she didn’t want to come, so we were especially pleased that we encouraged her to join us. She later thanked us for persuading her to get out and about and seeing her enjoy herself made it all worthwhile!

After exploring the farm, we sat together at the café and enjoyed some lovely cold drinks as the morning became warmer.

A huge thank you to Paul for driving us and to Craig for organising our delicious lunch for when we returned home. We all enjoyed eating together in the shade and talking about our wonderful morning.

Another beautiful Hampton Grove memory made!

Sun, Songs, and Sizzling Burgers and Welcome Community for Spectacular Summer BBQ

What an absolutely amazing evening at our BBQ! A huge thank you to everyone who helped make it such a special event. To our incredible staff, thank you for always supporting every event we put on. Whether you were on shift or gave up your day off to join us, your kindness, enthusiasm and dedication to our residents never go unnoticed.

A special thank you to our fantastic kitchen team, who always go above and beyond. The food was amazing, and the effort you put into every detail is truly appreciated.
Thank you to Stefan and Irina for your continued support of activities and for always encouraging us to create wonderful experiences for our residents.

Our residents had the most wonderful time, with so many commenting on what a fantastic day it had been. Seeing the smiles, laughter and everyone coming together is exactly what it’s all about.
A huge thank you to the lovely Gabriela for entertaining us throughout the evening. What an incredible voice you have, you made the event extra special!

And finally, to all of our families who came along to celebrate with us, thank you. Your support and the time you spend making memories with your loved ones means more than you know.

Another beautiful day we had at Hunstanton!

Another beautiful day we had at Hunstanton!

We enjoyed a wonderful day by the seaside, taking in the fresh sea air and soaking up the sunshine. Our lovely carer, Linu, had a little adventure when her hat decided to fly away in the sea breeze!

We had a couple of residents who needed a little encouragement before setting off, but as soon as they were on the minibus, they had the best time! It was wonderful to see their smiles and hear their laughter throughout the day.

Everyone enjoyed delicious fish and chips followed by a well earned ice cream. We spent lots of time watching the jellyfish drifting through the water, admiring the boats, listening to the waves, and enjoying a spot of people watching.

Days like these create wonderful memories, bring smiles to everyone’s faces, and remind us of the simple joys that make life so special.

Wonderful Day out in Hunstanton

Wonderful Day out in Hunstanton

What a fantastic day we had on our trip to Hunstanton! It brought back so many happy memories as everyone reminisced about family holidays by the seaside. Jill shared lovely stories about her grandad, who was a fishmonger, and how regular trips to Hunstanton were such a special part of her childhood.

We all enjoyed a delicious lunch together, with plenty of smiles as everyone checked out the menu and compared what each other had ordered. It’s always lovely to see everyone chatting, laughing, and sharing the experience.

After lunch, we took a stroll along the beach, enjoyed the fresh sea air, and of course treated ourselves to an ice cream. As Bonnie said, “You have to have an ice cream when you go to the seaside!”

To finish off our day, we couldn’t resist a visit to the 2p machines! There was lots of laughter, a little friendly competition, and we may even have given one of the machines a gentle shake to see if we could encourage a few extra pennies to fall out… all in good fun!

A wonderful day filled with laughter, memories, friendship, and plenty of seaside smiles. We can’t wait for our next adventure!

A Very Special Visitor at Hampton Grove!

A Very Special Visitor at Hampton Grove!

We had the most wonderful visit from Maple, a beautiful wellbeing dog, who came to see our residents with Paul from Blue Paw.

Maple was an instant hit! Our residents absolutely loved spending time with her, enjoying lots of cuddles, gentle strokes and plenty of smiles.

Blue Paw combines the incredible wellbeing benefits of dogs with over 30 years of experience supporting people affected by trauma through the Blue Light emergency services. Their work helps people to talk openly about experiences of trauma, PTSD, stress and mental health challenges, creating a safe and supportive environment.

For our residents, Maple simply brought joy, companionship and lots of happy memories of beloved pets.

It was lovely to see the smiles on everyone’s faces as Maple made her way around the home, receiving plenty of attention and affection!

A huge thank you to Paul and Maple for spending time with us.

Maple, you have definitely left a little paw print on all our hearts!

Today was a truly special day …Yay, she did it!

Today was a truly special day …Yay, she did it!

Huge congratulations to our wonderful Christine, who successfully completed her swim and tread challenge in support of the Barchester Charitable Foundation.

Christine amazed herself, saying she couldn’t believe that after such a long time she was still able to swim. Watching her achieve this personal milestone was incredibly inspiring, and the smile on her face said it all.

It was an amazing achievement and such a wonderful feeling to be there cheering her on and swimming alongside her. We are all so proud of you, Christine!

Well done, Christine you’ve shown us all that determination and courage can achieve incredible things!

Christine raised an amazing £141.00 for Barchester Charitable Foundation.

Costa, Coffee and Company with Angela

Costa, Coffee and Company with Angela

This morning, one of our lovely residents and their family very kindly treated myself and our wonderful Angela to a Costa coffee and joined us.

It gave us the perfect opportunity to sit together, chat, and enjoy each other’s company.

We spent the morning talking about life at Hampton Grove, sharing stories about past jobs, the places we’ve lived, memorable holidays, and the incredible people we’ve met throughout our lives. It was especially heart-warming to hear them say how lucky they feel to be part of the Hampton Grove family and how grateful they are for our amazing staff, who make such a difference every single day.

These conversations remind us why building meaningful relationships is at the heart of everything we do. Thank you for your kindness, your company, and for making our morning so special. It truly was a wonderful start to the day.

Treasure the good days

Treasure the good days

After being unwell, one of our lovely residents felt well enough today for her daughter to take her out into the garden.

Visits can sometimes be difficult, with the uncertainty of what mood the day may bring. That’s the reality of living with dementia, and it’s something families navigate with incredible love and patience.
Today, though, was one of the good days. There were smiles, fresh air, and precious moments together in the sunshine.

I wanted to share this because it’s important for families to know they’re not alone. Dementia can bring many ups and downs, and every visit can be different. If you’re ever finding things difficult or just need someone to talk to, please know that we’re here for you too. Our staff are always happy to offer support, a listening ear, or simply be there when you need us.

Let’s continue to treasure the good days, support each other through the harder ones, and remember that no one has to face this journey alone.

Baby Shower Celebrations

Baby Shower Celebrations

Today we had the pleasure of celebrating a very special baby shower at our home for our wonderful Senior Carer, Shiryl, and her husband, Jeff.

It was such a lovely afternoon filled with laughter, fun, and lots of love. We gave beautiful gifts, enjoyed a gorgeous cake, and had a fantastic time playing games, including Guess the Sweet Mess, making our baby predictions, and sharing advice cards for the new parents-to-be.

Shiryl and Jeff, we know you are both going to be amazing parents. Your little one is already so loved, and we wish your growing family a lifetime of happiness, good health, love, and unforgettable memories.

Congratulations from all of us, we can’t wait to meet your beautiful bundle of joy
