Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Meeting the Crocodiles

Hampton Grove took a trip out today at Johnsons Of Old Hurst, to meet the animals.

The sun was out on this glorious day, walking around the lovely park seeing donkeys goats rabbits crocodiles highland cows and lots more animals.

Highlight of the day was seeing the handlers feed the crocodiles, o my what big teeth they have.

Peterborough Cathedral

Hampton Grove took a trip into town this morning to explore Peterborough Cathedral. The sun was shining and the Cathedral looked lovely. We bumped into a family member who gave us a small tour of the cathedral and spoke about the history of the cathedral. And to top the morning off we popped into Costa for a lovely coffee & Hot Chocolate drinks before returning home.

Duxford IWM

Hampton Grove took a trip to Cambridgeshire today to visit the Imperial War Museum. We had the chance to step onto the Concorde. We beat the wind & rain to get to see all the different plans and that from world war one/ two and other historical things. So fascinating what these men, boys, women, girls, our heroes did for our countries and the price some had to pay.

World Water Day

World Water Day is an annual United Nations observance day held on the 22nd of March that highlights the importance of fresh water.

The day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources, so we decided to take a few residents to Rutland Water.

Rutland Water is a reservoir in Rutland, England, east of Rutland's county town, Oakham.

It is filled by pumping from the River Nene and River Welland, and provides water to the East Midlands

Residents enjoying a very fresh breezy walk through Rutland water followed by, a bite to eat in the local cafe there.

International Women's Day

Miss Paradise Beauty Salon visited today to promote Women's Day 2024.

Some of our ladies, family members and staff got to be treated, having a facial, eyebrows or nails done.

Relaxing atmosphere peaceful setting high spirits.

All residents walked out the door with a smile on their faces.

Thank you so much to the team from Miss Paradise for donating their time and dedication.

Why did the chicken cross the road?

To meet the residents at Hampton Grove.

And it wasn't just chickens who came to visit, but one of the oldest Hamsters in the UK. Hammy.

Hammy the Hamster met the oldest resident at Hampton Grove, Charlotte of 103 years old, Hammy has a bit if away to go to catch up as he's only 5 although that's around one hundred years old in human years!

The activities team arranged a fabulous afternoon of entertainment also with guinea pigs, tortoises, rabbits, dogs and cats visited form Michelle's Animal Therapy & Petting Party.

The chicken was quite a Comedi-hen as he parched on top of the residents Zimmer frame while the dogs & cats sat on laps of delighted residents & were stroked & cuddled!
