Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

International Firefighter Day

Today Hampton Grove residents visited Stanground Fire Station.

Dale from Blue Watch gave the residents a tour of the station and showing us all the equipment on the engines and what the Firefighters have to wear, they even showed the ladders.

Residents were asking questions, like how much does the equipment weigh that you have to carry?, what do you do if a hydrant is not there?

We spent about an hour and half there, residents totally enjoyed the tour.

Residents presented the Firefighters some goodies to say Thank You for risking their lives and everything they do.

Grand National Day

At Hampton Grove a couple of our residents requested to place a bet on the Grand National.

This was something that they used to do and wanted to continue to do so,

It was such a lovely day that we had a walk to Ladbrokes betting agents.

Residents picked which horse they wanted wrote out their ticket and placed their bet.

The residents got back in time to watch the race on the TV to find out that one of their horse came in at 3rd place.

Highlight of the day was seeing the handlers feed the crocodiles, o my what big teeth they have.

Peterborough Cathedral

Hampton Grove took a trip into town this morning to explore Peterborough Cathedral. The sun was shining and the Cathedral looked lovely. We bumped into a family member who gave us a small tour of the cathedral and spoke about the history of the cathedral. And to top the morning off we popped into Costa for a lovely coffee & Hot Chocolate drinks before returning home.
