Activities at Hampton Grove Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Lisa May

Activities Coordinator

I started working for Barchester in October 2020. The team here at Hampton Grove have made me feel welcome. No day is ever the same here.

My varied daily activities and events help to create a stimulating engagement programme to enhance the quality of life for each resident within the home.

Life at Hampton Grove Care Home

Dementia Action Week

During Dementia Action Week this week, residents spent time with some very special pets from Michelle's Animal Petting Party.

Animal therapy can help reduce the effects of dementia—anxiety, agitation, irritability, depression, and loneliness. By their friendliness and non-threatening way, pets can help a dementia patient be more interactive, when sometimes they are not able to do so in social settings with other adults.

Right Royal Bash

Residents from Hampton Grove celebrated in style today watching King Charles coronation.

So the residents and staff didn't miss any of the celebrations, we showed the event on a screen whilst having lunch with a picnic and a glass of sherry and home made cakes made by one of our volunteers.

Following the coronation family members put on a little sing along for all to join in.

Great afternoon had by all.

Trip Out!!

We made the most of the sunny weather and went to Ferry Meadows. We stopped off at the café for cups of tea before enjoying a picnic in the sunshine. We then went for a leisurely stroll around Ferry Meadows and looked around their gift shop

Out in the Community

Yesterday our general manager, Krzysztof, visited local retirement houses to tell them about all the exciting things happening in our home over the next couple of months. Community engagement and supporting our local community is a big part of what we do here at Hampton Grove as it benefits the socialization and fun for all our residents when they get to connect with our community.

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter is a great excuse to eat as much chocolate as you want. Hampton Grove put on a Easter egg hunt, around the gardens and home for the residents to collect as much chocolate as they could and share with all those in the home.
