Activities at Hawthorns Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Once again, we held our annual Oscars ceremony that celebrates staff & residents. Awards included the 'Best Dressed Resident' and 'Happiest Carer'.
The puppets were also back to celebrate Peggy’s birthday and the resident knitting group has been busy creating these beautiful blankets.
Race Afternoon
Hawthorns proudly hosted a race afternoon, where residents & friends were encouraged to wear their posh hats, place their bets and enjoy the excitement of the race.
Spring Gardening
Our Gardening Club has started to plant borders and flower beds ready for the summer flowers.
Open Day
We hosted an open day on 21st April and everyone who attended had a lovely day. Ged Kirkbright held an afternoon of memories and singing based around the Queen's life, in honour of her upcoming birthday.
