Activities at Hempton Field Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Hempton Field Care Home
Garden Centre Day Trip
In a week before the storms hit we managed to visit Haddenham Garden Centre. Tim our Gardner drove the minibus with Pauline, one of the care team in attendance. It's been such a long time since we've managed to get out and about.
The group enjoyed strolling around the centre, shopping and buying lots of goodies to enjoy back at home. The café was too inviting to miss; a hot drink and a scrummy slice of cake finished off a perfect day... the first of many day trips out.
Valentines Day Meal
Love was in the air at Hempton Field today to celebrate Valentine's Day. We gathered together surrounded by hearts and roses with romantic melodies playing in the back ground, our residents enjoyed chatting together and recalling memories of past Valentines with their loved ones.
Chef and the hospitality team created a delicious 3-course menu with the classic prawn cocktail to start and main that included heart shaped potatoes to accompany a choice of luscious lemon chicken or poached salmon, and a desert full of sweet things to dip into melted chocolate… it was just perfect.
Burns Night Celebrations
Our hospitality team went all out to create the perfect 'Burns Night Supper'. The menu started with a choice of Cullen skink (haddock) or cock-a-leekie soup followed by the traditional haggis, neeps and tatties. With a delicious Cranachan dessert, made with raspberries, cream, oatmeal and honey to celebrate Robert Burns’s birthday. The dining hall was filled with Scottish music as we addressed the haggis with a 'wee dram' of Scottish whisky! Followed by reciting poems of Robert Burns.
Dick Wittington in Panto
Our residents had a super time watching and taking part in the 'Partytime Productions' players version of 'Dick Wittington in Panto'. With lots of 'he's behind you' and 'oh no he isn't' our residents had such a good time, singing and laughing throughout.
Christmas Day at Hempton Field
The magic of the festive season was all around the home on Christmas Day, with a visit from Santa to every resident followed by a superb 3-course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings and regular snap of Christmas crackers!
We gathered together in the lounge for a good old sing-song before settling down to watch some traditional movies including 'Home Alone' and 'It's A Wonderful Life'.
Christingle
Last week we had Margaret and Jackie visit from St Andrews Church Chinnor. They gave us a talk and demonstration on 'Christingle' and how it supports The Children Society. Our residents enjoyed making their own candle displays.
