Sophie Glasgow
My name is Sophie, I am the Activities Coordinator here at Herne Place Care Home. It is my duty to ensure all residents feel happy and content. I love my job because I enjoy seeing our residents smiling and having fun on a daily basis.
I enjoy getting to know all of our residents on a one-to-one basis and in a group setting. This allows me to get to know their hobbies and ambitions as individuals, and fulfil these with life enriching activities they appreciate and will benefit from.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

It was dictionaries at the ready at Herne Place care home in Herne Bay where super-competitive residents were keen to get involved in National Scrabble Day.
Staff and residents at Herne Place care home decided to host a tournament to decide their ultimate Scrabble Star. Residents enjoyed a game of Scrabble or two and they loved coming up with new and improved ways to increase their letter and word scores.
Chloe Barry, the Activities Co-ordinator at the home commented: “Our residents all love to play Scrabble, we regularly have a game on the go and we love a good debate about what is and isn’t a word – thank goodness we always have our trusty dictionary on hand to settle things! Some of our residents have the most amazing vocabularies!
Hadrian Rodriguez, General Manager at the home, said: “It has been a brilliant day and we have all enjoyed playing lots of Scrabble together, it is amazing what you learn when you get together round a Scrabble board. Our residents’ have wiped the floor with me which is no surprise – I really need to brush up my Scrabble skills!”
