Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.

Ellie Robinson
Hi, my name is Ellie and I am the Activities Co-ordinator here at Hilderstone Hall.
I joined the team in November 2024 having previously worked in hospitality and event planning. I am not new to working in healthcare - earlier in my career I trained and worked as a Care Assistant and obtained my NVQ Level 2 and Higher Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
I bring bags of energy and enthusiasm and I enjoy spending time with Residents, getting to know them individually, their personalities, likes and dislikes. Ultimately, this enables me to plan and deliver a tailored activities programme to suit their wants and needs.
I am also a qualified florist, which supports the creativity involved in the role and I can inspire Residents to participate in regular and new activities and events.
Outside of work, I am a Mum to my young Son, which keeps me busy! In my spare time my family and I enjoy getting out in the the fresh air for walks and there is usually a coffee and cake stop too!
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Hilderstone Hall Care Home
Fun in the sun!
Fun in the sun - Residents recently enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the homes garden as they took advantage of the early summer sunshine.
Whilst enjoying the warmer weather, Residents raised a glass of their favourite tipple – a glass of fizz! For some it was a traditional and refreshing cup of tea with a slice of home-made cake.
The history of Coronations
Across our services Residents had a wonderful time participating in an interactive virtual talk with Pippa Catterall, Professor of History and Policy at the University of Westminster, where we delved into the rich history of coronations.
During the talk, we explored fascinating topics such as the coronation chair, the crown, and other significant aspects related to King Charles' upcoming coronation. Our residents were thrilled to have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the memoirs of past coronations from 1937 and 1953, as well as learning about the coronation oath and what to expect from the ceremony, including the music, guests, and pageantry.
Games afternoon
Residents at Hilderstone Hall enjoy a varied life enrichment programme to keep the mind, body and soul active. Each day there are popular group activities bringing everyone together along with individual Resident centred activities.
A splash of colour
Residents from Hilderstone often get together to enjoy their regular art and craft sessions which supports their creative ideas and encourages different methods of Art. Residents have been busy showing their own style of colourful designs.
This class is particularly popular with all and everyone thoroughly enjoys a get together with a cuppa and a slice of delicious cake. Residents enjoy the colouring and crafting as find it very calming and therapeutic. It enhances mindfulness and promotes a positive mental well-being.
The great outdoors!
Fun in the sun - Residents recently enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in the homes garden as they took advantage of the late spring sunshine. Whilst enjoying the warmer weather, Residents raised a glass of their favourite tipple – sherry! or simply a cup of nice refreshing tea and a slice of cake.
Easter celebrations
We had a very hoppy Easter! We celebrated Easter in style with a whole host of themed activities and egg-cellent entertainment. Our residents enjoyed decorating the home, a special visit from our Easter bunny and an Easter Bonnet parade.
In recognition of the day, our talented chef prepared a delicious feast for all to enjoy, from carrot soup, roasted lamb and salmon with creamed spinach to tasty chocolate cake and Easter biscuits. As always, we’ve had an amazing time.
