Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo

Activity Coordinator

Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.

Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

The Vaccine Arrives

We're happy to share the fantastic news that the first round of vaccinations have been given to our residents here at Hilton Park. It's was a highly successful and positive day; staff and management are exited and optimistic for the future.

International Flower Day

We had a very colourful day yesterday for International Flower Day; our married couple (pictured) were enjoying creating a variety of artistic flowers and looking at pictures from our Hilton Park gardens in bloom. We were unable to get out into the gardens at present, though we’re looking forward to getting out in the spring.

Words of Kindness

We received a fabulous hand-written letter from dear Charlie, (6-years-old) who reached out to us to ask if we had a nice Christmas and to let us know that he had a wonderful Christmas too.

Thank you, Charlie; the letter is greatly appreciated, and we hope you stay in touch, and one day you might be able to come in and see us all at Hilton Park.

Vaccinations Have Started

Staff at Hilton Park have started to receive Covid vaccinations. So far 23 members of staff have received the first dose of the vaccination after being offered this by the local NHS Trust.

The whole team is delighted and it feels as though we can see the light at the end of the tunnel after a very challenging year. This is the first step on the path to getting things back to normal and having a buzz of visitors in the home again.

We expect to have more staff vaccinated in January and hopefully residents will have access to this soon.

Christmas Spirit at Hilton Park

The residents at Hilton Park have been getting into the festive spirit by creating Christmas cards for the community. WIth the aim of delivering Christmas cards to those who are isolated at home this year, the residents hope to lift spirits across the community.

Watch out for reindeer in the garden! The Hilton Park gardening team have been busy decorating trees and creating Christmas sculptures to bring a smile to the faces of the residents.

Jewellery And Wine

A number of Hilton Park residents have enjoyed an afternoon of admiring jewellery and wine.

Residents gathered to show off their jewellery collections, explain the story behind each piece and enjoy some wine at the same time. We have learnt all about family heirlooms, romantic gestures and secret spending sprees.
