Activities at Hilton Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Jenelyn Szabo

Activity Coordinator

Hello, my name is Jenelyn and I am the head of activities here at Hilton Park.

Having started my Barchester journey as a carer back in 2019, I have gained good experience of working closely with our residents. After being a carer I then moved onto the Activities team and thoroughly enjoyed working as an Activities co-ordinator, which led to my promotion to Activity Lead.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the smiles on our residents faces.

Happy Hilton Halloween!

A happy halloween from us!

Treat or treat! Happy Halloween! We hope you've got a bucket of sweets in for the potential visitors this evening! We have been pumpkin carving and making halloween-inspired arts and crafts ready for what spooky treats await us later!

Our Resident turns 102!

A VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR RESIDENT Mrs.D who turned 102 last week! It is amazing some the stories our residents have of their past and there certainly is a lot when you are 102!

We had a small birthday celebration with all staff and other residents, a birthday spent well!

Hilton Park's Caricature Artist!

What a fabulous afternoon we had this week with Dave Lucas, a magnificent Caricature Artist. Dave sketched a number of our residents and the results were uncanny and rather comical! He'll be coming back as he was so popular, and we can't for his return. Here are some pictures of the brilliant day!

Hilton Park's Magic Show!

It's a kind of magic! We had a great morning today with magician Wayne Goodman! Many thanks from all the residents for a superb and interactive show, we look forward to having you back!

London Royal Academy of Music Student Pianist

Many thanks to Kayta who played some incredible classical piano for us today at Barchester Healthcare, Hilton Park.

Katya is from Moscow, currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London and she travelled down on the train today to play for us. What a treat it was to have her here ?

Reminiscing Activities

We had a fabulous afternoon online with a resident (who was a former model!) looking at all the latest collections from her favourite brands like Chanel, Prada and Gucci.

Our resident shared many exiting and joyful memories with us from her days modelling all around the world.

It is so important to reminisce on times we had when we were younger and to talk about some of our fondest memories. It is one of the best ways to get to know our residents. We like to spend 1 on 1 time with our residents to discuss their past, likes, loves and dislikes.

This is all part of our 'Resident of the Day' project. We have a nominated resident of the day where all of our staff spend some time with our resident to get to know them more, find out what foods they might like or dinners they might like to try and if there is anything more we can do for them.
