Activities at Hundens Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can

Life at Hundens Park Care Home
International Dot Day
On the 16th August, we celebrated International Dot Day, where we got creative and made some beautiful aboriginal art, ate dotty food, read poems and had an all-round dotty day!
Bristol International Balloon Fiesta
Throughout early August, we celebrated the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. Residents participated in some craft sessions using watercolours, sketching, pens and 3D decorations to design their own balloons unique to them. Some of the residents then helped the Activities Coordinator to create a window display to showcase their fantastic artwork.
Virtual Cruise
On the 14th August, residents of Hundens Park set sail on a virtual cruise to Jamaica. We listened to the sweet sounds of Bob Marley when we arrived, drank cocktails and tried some authentic Jamaican cuisine, all cooked by our fantastic, chef Sharon.
Community Donations
We received many generous donations from the local community, including an organisation called Local Care Support, who regularly bring sweet treats and lunches for the staff and residents to boost morale. We received a generous donation of wash bags from The Hurworth Sewers, hand gels from Bob Singh and his team, sweet boxes from DFC girls and doughnuts from the local memorial hospital.
Royal Celebrations
We participated in a companywide competition to create the best birthday cake with the help of our residents. The decoration was purely their own hard work, minus the writing, and they did a great job.
Elf Day
Hundens Park hosted a gang of Santa’s elfs to raise much-needed funds for the Alzheimer's Society. Staff and residents dressed up as Santa’s little helpers for the day and a raffle and donations raised a total of £128.80.
We were also joined by our friends from Eastbourne Pre-School. The children dressed up for the occasion and wore their handmade elf ears. Children performed a wonderful concert and donated a beautiful festive hamper to residents, who presented the kids with gifts in return.
Thank you to everyone who showed their support.
