Activities at Hunters Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Ben Sandall

Activities Coordinator

Hello I am Ben and I am the Activities Coordinator at Hunters.  I started working at Hunters as part of the hospitality team, but when a vacancy came up on the activities team I jumped at the opportunity.  I have seen how important a varied activities programme is and the team ensure we offer something for everyone including regular past times.

Hunters at Frampton Country Fair

Hunters attended the Frampton on Severn Country Fair today along with our other Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Homes. It was a very positive event with large numbers attending. It was also great for team to be out and about again talking about the residential, nursing, dementia and respite care we can offer.

Bumper Sweet Corn Crop

The vegetable garden at Hunters just keeps giving, we have had a great crop of radishes, carrots, spring onions and runner beans. We are just waiting for the sweet corn to be ready which looks as though it’s going to be a bumper crop this year.

Tea at Lake 32

A big thank you to Ben and Paloma who invited the residents to go along to Lake 32 near South Cerney for morning tea. It was a scorching day but the residents were able to sit in the shade and watch the water sports and everyone swimming in the lake, whilst enjoying a refreshing drink and watching the world go by.

Drinks with a Lake Side View

Hunters took residents out to enjoy an afternoon drink at a nearby lake side hotel. It is always wonderful to go out and about on the mini bus for a scenic drive and adding to that a pleasant drink whilst enjoying the beautiful lakeside view was perfect.

Here Comes the Sun!

Residents spent an enjoyable afternoon painting colourful sun catchers to hang in their bedroom windows and reflect the light.  As ever there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and plenty of conversation to complement the afternoon perfectly.
