Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Everson
I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.
I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day. I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

Petpals
Residents enjoyed stroking the animals who visit our home every month. This activity is widely enjoyed throughout the home.
Bentley Wildfowl Museum
One of our weekly outing was spent at the Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum. Everyone had a lovely day looking at all the different types of birds and old style motor cars. We also enjoyed a nice lunch in the café on site.
Say hello to... Ruth Rahie!
Residents, staff and visitors loved hearing the beautiful voice of Ruth Rahie when she came to sing for us.
Lovely Laurie!
The very lovely Laurie came to sing for us recently; she got everyone involved and everyone had a lovely time with her – some even got up to dance!
Eastbourne Seaside Trip
We enjoyed a fish and chip lunch and a walk along Eastbourne Pier and seafront. The views and motorbikes that we saw were also greatly appreciated.
Live Entertainment
On Thursday 20th July, Jon McDevitt visited us to play his guitar and sing some popular songs. The residents were all singing along with him and had a lovely time.
