Activities at Hyacinth House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Anna Wasiak
I am a friendly and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator with a passion for working with people and making a positive impact in their lives. I joined Hyacinth House in 2024 as a carer and excited to now be the Activities Coordinator. I have eight years experience in hospitality and three years in floristry. I bring creativity, strong interpersonal skills and a warm welcoming approach to my role. My background has given me the ability to connect with individuals, organise engaging activities, and create meaningful experiences that brighten people’s days. I love inspiring others, fostering a sense of community and bringing joy through thoughtful and inclusive activities.

Surprise for the (Mobile) Dorset NHS Blood Donation Team
Home Services Advisor Jane, delivered surprise gifts of mouth-watering chocolate brownies prepared by our Chefs, plus biscuits, chocolates, refreshing drinks and other goodies to the Team at their Clinic set up in the Allendale Community Centre, Wimborne.
Jane had previously contacted Senior Sister, Louise Easton to arrange this surprise and although she wasn't going to be with them that day, she'd said 'the team love anything sweet' and thanked us for this gesture.
It was a pleasure to meet Mariyana (Nurse in charge), Vanessa, Helen, Claire and all the crew.
The Clinic is set up on arrival at each location and packed away again at the end of the day. As you can see from the picture, it's quite the operation. They work exceptionally hard and long days, bank holidays too!
Their efforts is saving lives, and we’re incredibly grateful for their service to the community and all those giving blood.
Remember that there is always a need for new donors. If you haven’t already, please consider donating.
Claire advised that anyone wishing to donate, would need to register and book an appointment https://my.blood.co.uk they are scheduled to return to Wimborne, 23rd August and 20th September.

Team spirit at Hyacinth House!
We're thrilled to introduce our incredible team that has been undergoing intensive training at the home for the past few weeks. From mastering fire safety protocols to perfecting manual handling techniques and much more, these dedicated individuals have been working tirelessly to ensure we offer the best care to our residents. We've tackled challenges, shared laughs and grown together, we are all looking forward to the exciting journey ahead as the Hyacinth House Team!
A special round of applause goes to our outstanding trainers Emma and Kieran, their guidance and support is invaluable and they've made the sessions fun and engaging. To show our appreciation, personalised gifts and vouchers were presented to them as a thank you.
