Activities at Hyacinth House Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Anna Wasiak
I am a friendly and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator with a passion for working with people and making a positive impact in their lives. I joined Hyacinth House in 2024 as a carer and excited to now be the Activities Coordinator. I have eight years experience in hospitality and three years in floristry. I bring creativity, strong interpersonal skills and a warm welcoming approach to my role. My background has given me the ability to connect with individuals, organise engaging activities, and create meaningful experiences that brighten people’s days. I love inspiring others, fostering a sense of community and bringing joy through thoughtful and inclusive activities.

Ready, Set....Go!
Wimborne's 26th Annual Pancake Race, each year competitors run around the Minster while tossing their pancakes at the four corners of the church.
What a thrill it was to be part of this wonderful tradition. We were delighted with the invitation to take part in the wheelchair race where 3 care homes get to compete. Senior Carer Tammy and our Resident Ambassador Eveline, bravely stepped up to the challenge to represent Hyacinth House.
Due to the rain the event was moved inside the stunning Minster. The turnout was fantastic, with spectators of all ages eagerly watching the races unfold, from the adorable toddlers' first race to the adults, with our race in-between. A morning full of family fun and community spirit, camaraderie and cheers.
Such incredibly close times and though we may not have taken the prize this time, we gave it our all and had a blast doing so. Congratulations to the winners - you earned it!
As for us, watch out next year - we'll be back!
Big shout out to the cameraman's dedication, chasing everyone to capture every fun moment!
Here's to many more years of pancake racing fun at Wimborne Minster!

It was an absolute pleasure having our local Police Community Support Officer, PCSO Nicola join us for a pop-up stand and sit in on our Chitter Chatter Club gathering this week.
Residents, friends and neighbours had a wonderful time getting to know her and learning more about her vital role within our community. The morning was filled with engaging conversations and a real sense of community spirit and we hope to see Nicola here again soon.
Our weekly coffee mornings are to bring people together and we'd love you to join us next time! Feel free to drop by for a cuppa and some friendly chats and cake! The Chitter Chatter Club, Every Friday 10.30am-12pm.

A BEAULIEU-FUL DAY FOR ALL!
A special trip to Beaulieu Motor Museum became a dream come true for one of our cherished residents at Hyacinth House. A big thank you to our sister home Kings Park Care Home - Barchester Healthcare for making it a joint adventure and truly memorable!
With their Activities Lead, Claudia, at the wheel of the minibus, they set off for a scenic drive through the very picturesque New Forest, where ponies were spotted along the way.
They toured the fabulous Motor Museum and explored lots of vehicles from all eras, including some very famous ones too!
Mr Bean's mini, a James Bond car and the Queen's childhood play caravan, were just some of the amazing things they saw, but by far one of the most iconic cars spotted was the magnificent car used in the filming of Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang!
They enjoyed the beautiful blue sky and delicious picnic prepared by their chef.
On his return, John beamed at what a wonderful day it had been!
